Emails to French students

Emails were exchanged between our students (attending B' Junior, A' Class and B' Class) and Aniella Lebeau's ones (read more about it). My students and I are all so grateful to have been able to engage in this type of communication! The emails sent included exchanging cultural information and sharing amusing language activities, such as tongue twisters.

Find samples of the exchange here: E-pals project

Card, puppet and other games

to activate all senses when learning

Computer gamesMostly using links or doing activities

on the school’s blogs.

Watching video, too!

Creative projectsThe students’ drawings accompanied their texts.

Projection room time!

Library time!

B’ Junior students read their first longer story: ‘Mary and her basket’. Then, they drew and described their favourite scene.

Christmas, Carnival and Easter celebrations!

Reading fairy talesThe Greek bloggers and our friends Stefania Veldemiri and Costas Stoforos sent us the fairy tales they wrote, as a gift, so as to excite our students’ imagination. Since the discussions about them were in Greek, self-expression was enabled through the students’ native language, which will form the basis of a more solid future expression in the foreign language, too.

See the video of the children talking about their favourite scenes (in Greek).

Read-aloud activities

Our first read-aloud activity: sitting in a circle, students listened to the teacher read a Sherlock Holmes' story (as real secret agents!) and answered comprehension questions, made predictions and gave their advice to Sherlock!

The same happened with B’ Class students and a story called ‘The Picture’ which they loved.

Find some book projects here.
