• I am a Yorkshire pig. I loveto eat and play. I am totallyblind I can’t see at all. I wasone of the first Yorkshirepigs to come to the Unitedstates from Ohio in 1830.TheYorkshire pigs were mostlyin England in the country ofYork. Today Yorkshire pigsare more useful and durablethen ever.world war1 washaving troubles for theYorkshire progress.

Who am I?

• Did you know that the babypig is called a pig for onlyten weeks than after that itscalled a hog. The male pigweighs up to five hundredpounds. The female weighsfour hundred 50 pounds.When pigs are born theyweigh up to 2 and a half.thesow can have up to 27 ormore baby pigs. Sows canhave 8 to 12 babies at atime. They only live up to 9to 15 years.

The early life

• Wild Yorkshire pigs likea shady place and amuddy place too. Theylive in EastIndies,Europe,Asia,andAfrica. Wild Yorkshirepigs can live in manyparts of the world likein the jungle andforests. A mature pighas 44 teeth. It can runa 7 minute mile.

Habitat Sweet Habitat

• Wild Yorkshire pigshave a good senseof smell to help findfood. They mostlyeatbulbs,roots,fungi,eggs,birds,rodents,fruit,snails,carrion,and snakes.

• The Yorkshire pigstracks look like adeer tracks. Hogtracks can tend tobe as shorts as 2and a half incheslong. Pig tracks stayin place longer then38 days withsnow,and even rain.

• Did you know thatthe Yorkshire pig ismost sought afterbreed. Yorkshiremoms are goodmothers andproduce large litters.Pigs don’t sweat andthey don’t evenhave sweat glands.

• Most Yorkshire pigslive in East Indies,Europe, Asia, andAfrica.

• Yorkshire pigstales are inmovies. Pigs arevery intelligent.Pigs getbutchered andtern into bacon.
