Woman among 2 held formurder of army man

STATE TIMES NEWSMENDHAR: Nearly four months after an army jawan waskilled during a scuffle over a land dispute at a village here, thepolice arrested two persons, including a woman, in connectionwith the case. Police said Wednesday they arrested MohammadAlyas and Zanib Bi from Mendhar yesterday. Army's DefenceService Corps (DSC) unit jawan Mohammad Matloob wascritically injured during the scuffle at Chajjla village on May 5and he succumbed to injuries at a hospital on May 19, theysaid. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, RajivPandey, had constituted a special team under the supervisionof assistant superintendent of police, Anwar-ul Haq, for effect-ing the arrest of the accused, who were absconding, a policespokesman said. He said the accused have been booked formurder.

KATHUA: Police on Wednesday traced two missing girls andwoman and reunited them with their families.

As per the details, on September 3, 2018 a complaint wasreceived at Police Post Nagri about missing of one major girlon that police lodged a missing report and started search totrace the missing girl. After strenuous efforts and continuoussearch, police team led by ASI Som Raj under the directions ofIncharge Police Post SI Vikas Jasrotia succeeded in tracingthe missing girl from Ludhiana Punjab in the interveningnight of September 4-5, 2018. After completing all legal for-malities, she was restored to her family.

Meanwhile, Police Station Lakhanpur handed over a missinglady from Bihar found abandoned in the jurisdiction of PoliceStation Lakhanpur to her legal heirs. The lady was foundroaming in state of depression and thus Police StationLakhanpur under the supervision of lady police provided hermedical attention and conducive atmosphere which helped herto bring in state of normalcy. Police after sustained effortsinspite of language barrier and illiteracy succeeded in locatingthe exact address of the said lady out of several locations dis-closed by her. Kathua Police also sought help of UP and BiharPolice to reunite the lady with her family after legal formali-ties.

Meanwhile, acting on information about a girl roaming atMain Chowk Bari Brahmana, a party of Police Station BariBrahmana headed by SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana,Inspr Ravinder Singh Rakwal under the supervision of SDPOBari Brahmana Ashok Sharma reached the spot and tracedthe said girl from the area. The was girl brought back safely tothe Police Station who seems to be mentally unsound and dis-closed her identity as Sapna Devi (15) daughter of Ram Singh(both name changed) resident of Fatehpur Brahmana TehsilRS Pura, district Jammu.

22 years old youth consumes poison STATE TIMES NEWS

SAMBA: A 22 years old boy consumed poisonous substance athome in village Rajpura of Samba on Wednesday. The victimwas identified as Bhanu Sharma son of Darshan Singh resi-dent of village Rajpura. On seeing him lying unconscious, hisfamily members immediately brought him to District HospitalSamba from where doctor referred him to GovernmentMedical College and Hospital Jammu for further treatment.Police has taken cognisance of the matter and started investi-gation.

KATHUA: Police on Wednesday arrested a bootlegger andrecovered 300 pouches of liquor from his possession.

As per the details, SI Vikas Jasrotia Incharge Police PostNagri alongwith his team on a tip off conducted raid in villageKhokhyal and seized 300 pouches of illicit liquor from the pos-session of one Dev Raj son of Dhyan Chand resident ofKhokhyal Kathua. RAJOURI : Police on Wednesday nabbed two persons alongwith intoxicant capsules and heroin in Rajouri District.

As a part of a VIP visit, police team headed by SHOThanamandi Nazir Ahmad Dar under the supervision ofDySP Ops Sukhdev Singh laid a surprise Naka and startedgeneral frisking of pedestrians and vehicles. During this, copsdeployed on Naka saw a boy trying to escape from the spot whowas chased and put to physical frisking.

Meanwhile, A joint team Special Operation Group (SOG) &Police Station Rajouri of Rajouri Police arrested a drug ped-dler along with consignment of heroin worth thousands ofrupees. For routine domination purposes, a team of SOG andPolice Station Rajouri was sent on a patrol when at TarpaiBridge Saim Samit on Rajouri - Thanamandi road, a man wasseen moving who changed his direction suddenly after seeingpolice patrol. Such an act of man developed suspicion amongcops who detained the man and soon another team headed byInspr. Tahir Yousuf SHO Police Station Rajouri reached onspot and during search of suspect, 15 grams of heroin like sub-stance was recovered.

Man identified as Dushant Singh son of Shankar Singh res-ident of Sainik Colony Jammu was arrested and a case videFIR 500/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was regis-tered against accused at Police Station Rajouri.
