“…Consider a future device for individual use, which is a sort of mechanized private file and library.…A memex is a device in which an individual stores all his books, records, and communications, and which is mechanized so that it may be consulted with exceeding speed and flexibility.

It is an enlarged intimate supplement to his memory…"

Modern Mobile UX

What time does it take for me to want to click?

More choices I have – more time it takes

Reaction time, T

Probable choices, n

T - is an average reaction time required to choose among choicesn - is a number of equally probable choicesb - is a constant that can be determined empirically

What time does it take to move to click point?

The smaller item is –the more time it takes

The bigger distance is –the more time it takes

T - is the average time taken to complete the movement.a - is an empirical constant represents the start/stop time of the device. b - is an empirical constant standing for the inherent speed of the device.D - is the distance from the starting point to the center of the target.W - is the width of the target measured along the axis of motion.

and pretty similar distances on all 4…

Surprised by results?

Windows Phone 7 has very promising UX!

Google Nexus One disappointed me!I expected UX breakthrough from them…

iPhone did revolution in the past…But it isn’t a killer mobile UX now. S60 5th has good ideas (haptic), but default screen UX isn’t good.

What is Next?

I had a chance to talk with one of Burj Dubai architects, in San Diego in July 2009…about interfaces and interaction technologies
