Westminstergolfersalsotravelduringspringbreak.In2012,ourmen’sandwomen’steamsspentaweekinNorthMyrtleBeach,S.C.,wherewecompetedagainstotherschoolsattheBarefootResort&GolfCourse.

thePresidents’AthleticConference(PAC)forsixoutofthelast10seasons.Athree-timePACCoachoftheYear,NicholsonguidedtheTitanstothreestraightleaguetitlesfrom2003-05,asecond-placefinishin2006andthird-placefinishesin2008and2009.
The2004-05seasonwasperhapsNicholson’sbestyearastheTitangolfcoachasWestminstercapturedfiveinvitationaltitles,includingitsthirdstraightPACchampionship.Westminsterthenearneditsfirst-everberthintheNCAADivisionIIIMen’sGolfChampionships,finishinginatiefor16thplaceina23-
teamnationalfield.NicholsonisbestknownastheformerheadfootballcoachatWestminsterfrom1991-98.
Duringthattime,heledtheTitanfootballprogramtoarecordof64-25-2(.714)ineightseasons,includingpostinganundefeatedregularseasonin1992andcapturingtheschool’srecord-sixthNAIADivisionIInationalchampionshipin1994.Priortobecomingheadcoachin1991,Nicholsonspenttheprevious22seasons(1969-90)astheTitans’defensivecoordinator.Collectively,Nichol-soncoachedinninenationalchampionshipgames.
Forhiscoachingaccomplishments,NicholsonwasvotedNAIADivisionIINationalCoachoftheYearbyAmericanFootballQuarterlyandRawling’sin1994.HeisalsoaninducteeintheTitanSportsHallofFame.
Inadditiontofootball,Nicholsonalsoservedas–atonetimeoranother–theheadcoachforswimming,tennis,wrestling,andtrackandfieldcoachduringhis42yearsatWestminster.
Nicholsonisa1964graduateofSlipperyRockUniversity,wherehewasastandoutlinemanandalsoamemberofthetrackteam.In2007,heretiredafter38yearsofserviceasafull-timefacultymemberatWestminsterCollegeasaprofessorofphysicaleducation.
