Define the communication parameters.
Set the priority to low.
Check the value of the local address LADDR for the configuration of the FB7.
Open OB1, and drag and retrieve the ‘FB7 P_RCV_RK CP341’ from the CP 341 folder in the
program elements.
Enter the DB number (DB7) to be used by the FB7 to receive the communication on the
top. Then the corresponding DB is automatically created. Turn the ‘EN_R’ ON to enable
the communication. R is reset input, and LADDR is the local address value checked in
the previous step.Enter one of DB Nos. to be used. The read/write communication is
available within the assigned DB area only.

Data Length 8 bit
Stop Bit 1 bit
Parity Bit ODD
Error Detection BCC(SUM)
1.1.3.7 TOP Setup
(1) TOP Designer Setup
Select “S7-300/400 MPI(LOADER)” of “Siemens Series” in PLC type.
(2) TOP Serial Setup
Recommended settings are as follows.
- Serial Baud Rate : 19200 bps
- Serial Data Bit : 8bit
- Serial Stop Bit: 1bit
- Serial Parity Bit : ODD
- Serial Signal Level : RS-232
- Controller’s Station No. at Comm. Diagnosis(0~31) : 1
PLC node and Controller’s station No must be set differently each other.
Highest node should not exceed PLC node. For example, If PLC node is set 16
by user, highest node should be set 31 or above.
1.1.4 < S7-300/400 CPU Set up >
1.1.5 Configuration of S7-300/400 CPU >
(1) Hardware Configuration
Assign 187.5Kbps to the Transmission rate in the Network Setting tab of the MPI interface
as shown in the figure below. Change the highest address to 15 for a fast connection in the
communication network.
REF.
(2) Options > Set PG/PC Interface > PC Adapter > MPI
Assign 187.5 Kbps to the Transmission Rate as shown in the figure below. As the Highest
Address is for the PC, the value is different from the MPI address.
※ Select the Highest Node Address in the TOP Designer in case a PC Adapter is used. (see
Project Information in the Designer)
(3) Options > Set PG/PC Interface > PC Adapter > Local Connection
The Local Connection is the speed at which the PC communicates with the TOP in case a
PC Adapter is used. Assign 19200 or 38400 to the Local Connection depending on the
switch value specified on the side of the PC Adapter.
(4) TOP Menu
Assign 19200 or 38400 to the Baud Rate depending on the switch value specified on the
PC Adapter. Other values, including Data Bit, are automatically configured.

Memory M000 00 ~ M255 07 MW000 ~MW254
※In the Designer, select ‘FB’ if you want to read the DB area in real number, while
select ‘FM’ if you want to read the M area in real number. As the real number area
increases by 4, enter 0, 4, 8, … ‘32 bit Word Swap’ is selected only for the 32 bit
positive number, not for the real number.
※The decimal place of an address in real number shall be constant in all screens. Once
the number tag is registered, the decimal place shall be the same in every screen. It is not
applicable if the address is different.
< Note >
*1 : Data Register
DB 034 00002
Word Address: 00000 ~ 65534(even number)
Data Block (DB) No.: 001 ~ 256
* Add two digits to the end in Bit.
DB 034 00002 00
Bit Address: 00 ~ 07
※ Generate the tag in BCD for a timer and counter.
If the word array is allocated in the DB34, 0 and 1 are allocated in the first area, 2 and
3 are in the second area, and 4 and 5 are in the third area.
If you use a number tag or a key tag to read the second area in word value, set the
device address to 2 in the TOP (DB 034 00002).
If you need to access bits, for example, lamp tag or touch tag, set the address to 2 for
the high byte, while set the address to 3 for the low byte.
To access to 00 bit high byte in the second area: DB 034 00002 00
To access to 00 bit low byte in the second area: DB 034 00003 00
The last two digits 00 indicate the location of bit, which is definable from 00 to 07.
Turning the DB 034 00002 00 ON reads 256 in number tag (word).
Select ’32 Bit’ and ’32 Bit Word Swap’ to indicate the 32 bit positive number.
