Innovative ideas in: Rural health care. Child nutrition. Low cost medicines (preventative, curative). Water preservation. Cost-effective materials for road signs etc. High-utility information systems applications. Unemployment. Road traffic problems (congestion, accident etc.) Pollution (air, water and food). Improving student lives (student experience), and

learning.

Students from two faculties at least.Working on a joint project that

needs input from the disciplines of the two faculties.

Supervisors from University, a mentor from Industry.

Extra points for links with an industrial organization.

What products can be cost effectively manufactured, distributed and sold?

Study of a market need.Design of a product.Prototype before manufacture.Develop production, distribution and

Provide training: how does innovation happen at the individual & small group level?

Provide networking spaces: industry liaison, alumni.

Help spread awareness among staff and students: how innovation happens, possible curricular support, etc.
