+Activity: PLC Process

Pre-Test

Place PLC process in order of procedure (new teachers pair with experienced PLC teachers)

When done walk around tables and see if the other groups agree

+Split Groups

►Experienced PLC teachers meet with teams►Review process, results, prepare to present informally

►New to PLCs ►Meet with Jan and Robin to learn about the

PLCs and the process

+What is a SMART Goal?

►Strategic and Specific - Do you know exactly what you want to accomplish with all the details?

►Measurable - Are you able to assess your progress?

►Attainable/Achievable - Is your goal within your reach given your current situation?

►Results Oriented- Is the goal addressing an urgent need?

►Timebound - What is the deadline for completing your goal?

+SMART Goal Example:

The percentage of 8th grade students scoring above 80% on our unit exam will increase from 34% (pretest) to 90% by the end of the October as measured by our common Art I, Lesson I assessment.

+Practice Writing

Pair up with someone and write a practice SMART Goal

Share example with group
