Trees, shrubs, and herbs2000 species, 100- 146 genera Anthocyanins cause the flowers to change their color from red to
blue when aging. (Anthos = Flowers) (Cyano=Blue) These are vacuolar pigments that can change
from the colors red, purple or blue depending on the pH. Used for signaling pollinators.
Most have hairy leaves Coarse hair is due to the silicon dioxide and calcium carbonate
Radially symmetric5-merous (5 petals, 5 stamens, and 1 pistil)The fruit is usually a dry capsule that separates into 4 hard,
