Lets Get To Know Each Other

The Graveyard Book

Cover What's it’s about

Review: Drawing inspiration from Rudyard Kipling’s classic The Jungle Book, Gaiman tells the story of an orphaned boy, raised not in a jungle by animals but in a graveyard by ghosts. Bod, short for nobody, wanders into the graveyard as an infant as his family is dispatched by ‘the man Jack”. In the graveyard, Bod is discovered by the kindly ghosts of Mr. and Mrs. Owens, who entice the other local spirits to take the boy in and grant him the “Freedom of the Graveyard”.

The library system has a lot of copies. You can reserve yourself one.

Ask a librarian to reserve copy for you.

You can go and buy your own copy of the book.

How To Get the Book

When we discuss the books everyone’s ideas are important.

Speak freely, don’t be shy.

No one should be judged on what they say.

How We Discuss the Books

www.gfjteenbookclub.wordpress.com This website was made for a few reasons: One, it allows people to be members when

they don’t have time to come to meetings. Second, it allows members to continue to

discuss the books after meetings. Third it give members a place to find out

what is going on in the club.

Remember, most of this are just suggestions and will need to go though Cathy before they can be put into action.

I will post all actives on the website.

More then a Book Club

I have set up a Halloween Party for you. Date October 19th

Halloween Party

If you guys are interested, I can set up a date to celebrate the release of Pottermore.

We would discuss Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone that will be on Pottermore in October.

We can then do more Pottermore events when the other books come out.

When would you like to meet?

Pottermore Book Discussion

Many books are becoming movies this year.

Many books are already movies.

The Hunger Games is coming out in March.

We can set up dates to see movies both at movie theaters and at the library.
