AMMEX was formed in 2010 based upon the desires of Alliance Precision Plastics Corp (“Alliance”) andMcAlpin Industries, Inc. (“McAlpin”) to establish an entity able to provide customers an alternate source ofproduct for contract manufacturing of injection molded plastics, stamped and fabricated metals, andassembly and other secondary operations.
Alliance was established in 1954 in Rochester as a tooling shop and in 1963 added injection molding andassembly operations to meet customer demands. Today Alliance has over 80 injection molding machines, fullservice tool and die shop, assembly and secondary operations and over 300 employees in its facilities totalingover 200,000 square feet in Rochester, NY and Spindale, NC. Customers include such industries as businessoffice machines, medical, appliances and other commercial and industrial applications. Alliance adheres toISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485 standards. Ownership, just over twenty private investors, and the Company areled by Chairman & CEO Rocky Butler and President & COO Brad Scott.
McAlpin was established in Rochester, NY in 1964 as McAlpin-Derleth Tool & Die Corporation providingcontract tooling to customers in the business office machines industry. In 1965 the Company purchased apunch press and began stamping parts for customers. In 1967 the Company acquired Monroe Platingproviding internal plating capability. Continuing to expand its capabilities in stamping and fabricating metal,the Company changed its name to McAlpin Industries, Inc. in 1982. Today the Company has over 180employees working in more than 150,000 square feet in Rochester, NY. McAlpin has established QualityManagement Systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2008. The owners, Ken and Mike McAlpin, manage theoperations and service customers in the computer, business machine and automotive industries throughoutthe USA, Canada and Europe and Asia.
In 2009, Alliance and McAlpin formed Alliance-McAlpin NY, LLC, aNY limited liability company (“AMNY”). Owned equally at 50%each by Alliance and McAlpin, AMNY formed AMMEX, a limitedliability company and maquiladora in Mexico. In 2010 AMMEXleased space in Parque Industrial Ramos Arizpe and began metalfabricating and welding in 2011. Operations have evolved into afocus upon contract injection molding and assembly. TodayAMMEX has nine plastics injection molding machines ranging insize from 60 tons to 720 tons. Operating in a newly expanded33,000 square feet facility, AMMEX has over 60 employees andcontinues to expand rapidly to meet the growing demands ofcustomers in various commercial and industrial sectors includingautomotive, HVAC, appliance, recreational products, and businessoffice machines. AMMEX’s Board of Managers is comprised of Kenand Mike McAlpin, Brad Scott and Rocky Butler. The Ramos Arizpeoperations are managed by Ernesto Saro Flores.
