    Thesetwoterminalsprovideconnectionforanexternalpotentiometer(500klog)whichisavailablemountedonawallpanelfromAustralianMonitor(RC1).Whenthepotentiometerisconnecteditallowsforremotecontrolofthemasterlevel.Theexternalpotisgovernedbythemasterleveloftheamplifierallowingtheinstallertosetthevolumeandthenlocktheamplifierinarack,leavingtheuserwithjustamastervolumecontrolthatcannotgobeyondthelevelsetonthefrontpanelmastercontrol.Theterminalscanalsobeusedasasystemmutebyshortingthetwocontactstogether(byarelayorswitchforexample).     Theseterminalsprovideconnectionforthepriorityrelayoutput.TherelayoutputsareC(Common),NO(NormallyOpen)andNC(NormallyClosed).Thesearethestatesoftherelaywhentheamplifierisoff(mainsordc).Whentheunitisswitchedontherelayactivates.Therelaydeactivateswhensignalispresentatanyofthepriorityinputsregardlessofthefrontpanelchannelvolumes.Thiswouldnormallybeinputs1and2howeverthesechannelscanberemovedfromtheprioritybusviainternallinks(see“FunctionalNotes’).Theunitisshippedfromthefactorywithinputs1and2havingprioritysoassumingthatthishasnotbeenchanged,signalatanyoftheseinputswilldeactivatetheVOXrelaycircuit.Therelayalsodeactivateswhenatonesoundistriggered

    TheNOorNCselectionprovidestheinstallerwiththeoptionoftherelayeitheropeningorclosingacontact.Thisfeatureisnormallyusedinconjunctionwithrelayoverrideattenuators(volumecontrols).Inthisapplication,therelayoutputcouldtriggeranaccessorypowersupplywhichinturnbypassestheremoteattenuators.Theresultisthatpriorityinputsoralarmtoneswillalwaysbeheardirrespectiveoftheattenuatorsetting.Therelaycontactsareratedat3ampsat125VAC/30VDC.Therelaycanbedisabledviaaninternallink(see“InternalSettings”).

    TONESMODULE

    Theseterminalsprovideconnectionfortriggeringtheinbuilttonemodule.ThefourtonescanbeactivatedindividuallybyshortingthenamedterminaltoCOM.Whenanytoneisactivated,allinputs(exceptforinputs1and2)willautomaticallymute.Thelevelofthetonescanbyadjustedinternally(see“InternalAdjustments”).Thepotadjuststhelevelforall4tones.

    The600ohmtransformerbalancedTelephoneInputisparalleledwithinput2.Iftelephonepagingisrequired,theXLR&dualRCAinputsshouldnotbeusedastheseinputswillbesummedwiththeTelephoneInputintochannel2.ThefrontpanellevelcontrolwillsetthegainfortheTelephoneInput.TheTelephoneinputisshippedwithajumperleadconnectedtotheinputterminals;thismustbediscardedifthetelephoneinputistobeused. 24VDCPOWERIN
