C O N S U L T A T I O N R O O MConsultation rooms are designed to create a home-like feel, as opposed to a hospitality aesthetic, making patients as comfortable as possible for their potential first visit. Using natural materials and allow-ing views to nature allows this to be accomplished in a way that patients can connect to on a personal level. With regards to function, privacy, and patient type, these rooms are designed to be utilized for a variety of purposes.
P A T I E N T R O O MPatient rooms are designed to flex the needs of different patients. The room features large windows to maximize views of the surroundings. Patients can enjoy these spacious rooms that accommodate both them and family members, balancing calming and efficient design with practical safety concerns. Warm finishes and soothing colors create a spa-like effect patients can relax in.
N U R S E S S T A T I O NThe nurse stations are placed and designed strategically to maximize visibility between nurses and patients. Wide corridors allow the caregivers to maintain visual connectivity. Since the main station is at a major intersection of the clinic way finding tools such as floor patterns, branding, and materiality are executed for an efficient flow, while also creating a soothing environment.
I N J E C T I O N S T A T I O NThe injection stations are split up into “neighborhoods”. Curtains are provided for a public or private option. They utilize natural light and outdoor views for positive distraction and the healing impact of incorporated nature.

Noise control is a major issue in shelters, where the wail and woof of stressed-out dogs provides an often-inescapable soundtrack to daily existence. It’s a problem for staff and volunteers, who have to spend hours each day working in a painfully and potentially dangerously loud environment.

BOURBON BARREL HEADSBarrels can only be used once to age bourbon. After the aging process they can be used to age scotch or they can be made into a piece of re-purposed art. The process beings by running the barrel heads through a planer to shave off the dirt and grime that is collected while the bourbon is being aged. The barrel head planks are then separated to dry for up to onemonth to minimize shrinkage. Next, the planks are reassembled and a plywood back is screwed on to hold them securely together. After rigorous sanding, the barrel head is ready for laser engraving the clients custom graphic artwork. To finish, engraver dye, a top seal coat and a hook screwed on the back for hanging. The final product is sold to many different businesses (Maker’s Mark, Michter’s Bourbon, Kentucky for Kentucky, Kentucky Bourbon Trail, and more), and many individual buyers through my Etsy page, who want a custom engraving to give as a gift or use as home decor.
BOURBON BARREL TASTING FLIGHTSBourbon barrel tasting flights are re-purposed from the staves of the barrels. To begin making a tasting flight, each stave is cut in half. Then, each individual half has its edges rounded with a table router. After all the edges are smooth, a manual drill press puts in the four holes for the tasting glasses. Next, each tasting flight is sanded down to a smooth surface for laser engraving the clients custom graphic artwork. To finish the product an engraver dye and a clear seal coat make the engraving pop against the oak wood.
