Proposed set up:Instead of phase angle control, these SCRs aretriggered by zero cross over firing techniques, there by achieving same energy saving with outaffecting power quality in the grid.

Investment: Rs 0.7 Mn Savings: Rs 0.36 Mn ROI : 1.9 Years

Innovative Project – 2SCR with Zero cross over firing for heater controls

Existing Set up:Lead melting pots are having electrical heaters, controlled bySCR with Phase angle control to achieve process parameters within set limits. These SCRs do save energy, but generates moreharmonics in the grid and affecting power quality.

Benefits: Harmonics are not generated. Power factor improved. Optimum control on process parameters

like temperature and Humidity.
