Why This Conference
With the inconsistent coal availability of varying quality to
the Cement Industry over the last few years, the Cement
Industry has been grappling to enhance usages of
alternate fuels in the cement manufacture and in the
process bring down further the emissions level from the
plants. With this dual aim, Cement Manufacturers’
Association (CMA) had organized the First International
Conference on Alternate Fuel & Raw Materials (AFR) in
August 2013 and Second Conference in February 2015
which had a huge success.
The earlier two editions attracted participation of more
than 250 participants comprising of distinguished
national and International delegates/speakers from USA,
UK, Norway, Switzerland, Singapore etc, eminent
leaders and experts spanning Cement Industry,
Government agencies and senior industry professionals.
Encouraged by the positive feedback from all the
stakeholders on the First & the Second Conferences,
CMA is organizing the “3rd International Conference
on Alternate Fuels and Raw Materials in Cement
Industry” at Hotel Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi
Okhla, New Delhi during March 23-24, 2017.
Objective
To facilitate Technical, Regulatory and Financial
solutions towards increasing Alternate Fuels usage
in Cement Industry and to utilize effectively and efficiently
almost all agricultural and industrial wastes generated in
the country through having in place an efficient Waste
Handling Management System in the country, which
would go a long way in enhancing not only the
percentage level of Thermal Substitution Rate in the
Cement Industry but would also be helpful in addressing
a few major concerns of the Govt. considerably such as
– (a) protecting the environment through bringing down
the emissions levels, (b) reducing the use of fossil fuel by
encouraging more usage of AFR and (c) generating
downstream employment opportunities.
Technical Sessions
Besides Inaugural and Concluding Sessions, the two-day
Conference will have six Important Technical Sessions:
Best Practices in Co-processing of Alternative Fuels
Best Practices in the Utilisation of Alternative Raw
Materials
Sources of Waste Generation and Potential for
Usage as Alternate Fuel
Technological Advancements in AFR Utilisation
Industrial Experience of Global Co-processing

Dew Point
Dew point is often a better measure of how comfortable a person will find the weather than relative humidity because it more directly relates to whether perspiration will evaporate from the skin, thereby cooling the body. Lower dew points feel drier and higher dew points feel more humid.
Over the course of a typical March, the dew point typically varies from 6°C (dry) to 15°C (comfortable) and is rarely below 2°C (dry) or above 18°C (mildy humid).
The time of the month between March 1 and March 31 is the most comfortable, with dew points that are neither too dry nor too muggy.
(We would however advise that participants check out the weather before their departure for the conference to get an exact idea)
