“Alpine provides students with the opportunity to thrive academically and connects parents within our community to positively influence their child’s educational success.”
FOCUS PROGRAM Alpine offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB-PYP) in conjunction with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The IB-PYP program uses student interest to study topics that are important in the world in which we live.
Through the IB-PYP program at Alpine, students develop an understanding of important concepts; acquire and practice a range of essential skills; conduct research and develop knowledge that has local and global significance; develop positive attitudes toward learning, the environment and humanity; and have the opportunity for involvement in responsible action. AES.SVVSD.ORG/ACADEMICS/IB
STEMAlpine’s STEM program emphasizes the critical nature of STEM education in an ever changing world. STEM is integrated throughout the day using a Design Thinking model created at Stanford University.
The model is human-centered, which means the process is not focused on the object, product or idea being designed, but rather on the needs and interests of the end-user. Students easily connect STEM methodology to the IB learning concepts and the actions they take to better their world. AES.SVVSD.ORG/ACADEMICS/STEM

“I really like that we have IB and STEM. It’s cool how we get to do
design challenges.”
PARENT INVOLVEMENTAlpine is home to an extremely successful PTO program. Families and teachers work together to provide a multitude of fun family and community activities throughout the year.
Volunteers provide help in the classroom or through projects completed at home. Fundraising efforts enhance the educational experiences for students at Alpine through the addition of field trips, technology and learning materials. Learn more and get involved. AES.SVVSD.ORG/PARENTS

CHILD CARE AND ENRICHMENT
PRESCHOOL PROGRAMSAlpine offers a tuition based IB-STEM preschool program designed to enhance kindergarten readiness. The early childhood experience is family-focused and provides learning opportunities in all developmental areas. Programs offered include two, three or four day sessions per week to meet students’ varied needs. We also offer full-time child care through Alpine Academy for all times outside of your child’s preschool program to support families with child care needs.
Alpine offers a Community Schools Program designed to support families and enhance the school day through child care and enrichment opportunities. Child care is available for ages 3-12 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the school year.
Programming is also provided for late start mornings, vacation days and summer break. Enrichment opportunities include robotics, Zumba, guitar, pottery, Challenge Island and more. AES.SVVSD.ORG/PARENTS/COMMUNITY-SCHOOLS
