“When The Son of man comes, will He find faith upon the earth?” Luke 18:8

THIS 33

rd and last Sunday of the Christian liturgical year, the Gospel [Mark 13:24-32] reflects upon the Last

Day (doomsday) when Jesus, Who “…ascended into heaven and is seated at the Right Hand of The Father, will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead…”. We should therefore reflect upon this Second Coming of Christ (Parousia) and try to make sense out of the varied texts of Sacred Scripture that refer to the End Times. The beginnings foreshadow the end in regards to human history. In the beginning, Adam and Eve were creat-ed in a supernatural state, in the Image and Likeness of God [Gen 1:26]. They were the epitome of the materi-al created universe. Adam and Eve, however, fell to the Satanic temptation of wanting to be like God [Gen 3:4], but without God. The ‘Original Sin’ of trying to create their own paradise, where they could define good and evil for themselves [Gen 3:22] was also the downfall of all humanity. This temptation of creating themselves to be gods, and defining good and evil for themselves, would be the recurrent sin of pride that would afflict mankind thereaf-ter. St. Augustine would write his masterpiece about this conflict of man’s pride battling against the sovereignty of God in his epic book The City of God. Essentially man wants to establish heaven on earth. We can see this ever-present ego and arrogance of sinful men throughout history, but especially in modern times. A. Hitler and J. Stalin [Gog & Magog? Rev 20:8] epitomized the attempt to create heaven on earth without God; for Hitler the new Aryan race of the Übermensch (superman), and for Stalin the “Worker’s Paradise”. The postmodern State continues this fantasy in its attempts to cre-ate heaven on earth, a Utopia of the social reconstructionist’s dream where the redefinition of everything created takes place at the whims of the emotional desires of evil men bent on hedonistic pleasure. Indeed, to redefine human nature itself into an ever changing creation of ‘Frankenstein-ish’ proportions. This echoes Satan’s ploy “. . . and you will be like God, knowing good and evil [Gen 3:5].” Modern man simply believes that there is no unchanging natural state of things; that man himself, like his environment, is constantly evolving into something greater, and that through an ever-progressive historical ascendency we will ultimately come to establish heaven on earth! This evolution of man in the minds of the ungodly has gone on to such an extent as to redefine good and evil. What be-gan as allowing evil with the intention that good would come about [Rom 3:8] (“abortion should be safe, legal, and ra-re”), has now been turned on its head. What was held by all as evil in times past (abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, di-vorce, homosexual acts, fornication, etc.), has now, for the modern man, become positively good deeds celebrated as civil rights! Those who oppose these evil rights are hated by society, which ironically, calls them “haters”. What is more, now the ungodly are speaking of humiliating and persecuting those who do not embrace the new morality of the self-proclaimed progressives. Those who do not partake of the immorality of the ungodly are now to be ostracized and ridi-culed for their backward, intolerant ignorance. This society of the ungodly, of whom ‘In God They Don’t Trust’, has con-trol of the news and entertainment media, the arts, the government, the schools, and universities. Those who do not share the secular humanist faith of the ungodly need not apply for consideration. These things should not be altogether unfamiliar to the Christian; for we know where our status originated, Jesus said…

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all this they will do to you on My account, because they do not know Him who sent Me. (Jn 15:18–21).

Our Lord spoke these distressing words to His disciples because He knew tribulation would come [Jn 16:33]. Further-more, these trials would increase, so He left us further signs of when the world would be ready for His return on the Last Day, when He would judge all men by His Gospel. These signs are that the Gospel will have been preached throughout the world [Mt 24:14; Mk 13:10]. The full number of non-Christians would be converted [Eph 4:13; Rom 11:25], indeed there would be a major Conversion of the Jews [Rom 11:26; CCC #674]. Despite all this, there would be a Great Apos-tasy [Lk 18:8; II Thes 2:3; CCC #675-7] whereby many Christians – if not most – would lose their faith or be led astray by False Messiahs (Pseudo Messianism) [Lk 21:8; Mt 7:15; 24:11; Mk 13:22]. The Deception by the Wicked would lead many good people to embrace evil [Mk 13:22; II Thess 2:9–12]. A Great Persecution [Lk 21:12] of The Church and of all goodness, would take place. PASTOR’S PAGE, CONTINUED

Continued from Page 4

The spirit of The ‘Antichrist’ [I Jn 2:18, 22; 4:3; II Jn 1:7; CCC #675-6] would appear, and remove all that holds evil back in the world [The ‘Restrainer’ removed. II Thess 2:6-7], so that evil would proliferate greatly. And because of the great evil in the world, the charity (love) of many will grow cold [Mt 24:12], the world will hate Christians [Mk 13:13] for holding to their antiquated faith in Jesus Christ. There will be wars and insurrections on earth, nation vying against na-tion, earthquakes, famines, and plagues [Mt 24:7], and mighty signs will come from the sky [Lk 21:11]. Then, just when evil and Satan has appeared to have triumphed, and all seems lost to the remaining true Christians upon earth – just when the world is rejoicing is its newfound Peace and Security “then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape [I Thes 5:3]”. The sun and the moon will be darkened, the stars will fail and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven [Mt 24:29–30]. Yes, when all seems lost then Christ will appear – on the clouds; the world will end, and all the glory of it [Mt 25:31; Mk 13:26; CCC #1001]. All the dead, from the foundation of the world, will be raised to life in a glorified body [Daniel 12:1-3; Mark 12:25; I Thes 4:16]. The Angels will gather all the elect [Mk 13:27; Mt 13:41] raising the just, body and soul, into the air to meet Christ. The unrepentant sinners will remain on the ground and be damned for eternity [I Thes 4:16ff], their names not being in The Book of Life [Philpp 4:3; Rev 3:5]. Sacred Scripture read: Matthew Chapter 24 The Beginning of Calamities. The Judgment of the Nations Matthew 25:31-46; See also I Thes 4:15; 5:1-11 and II Thes 2:1-17. The Catechism of the Catholic Church read # 673 ff Blessings,

She always had a sour look on her face. I would say good morning and she would reply with “What’s so good about it?” When I first met her, my thought was to stay as far away from this “Negative Nellie” as possible. Then, one day I had a change of heart and decided to not just write her off as a chronic complainer but to really listen to what she was saying. She had a lot to be negative about; family situations, financial hardship, and per-sonal struggles. I vowed that day to be a friend to her and love her as Jesus loves her. At first, she pulled back when I hugged her but eventually she was the first one to extend her arms. A funny thing happened over time, I no longer felt the need to avoid her. I truly cared about the load she carried. And on occasion, I even got her to smile! She moved away and we have lost touch. I pray that the Lord puts other caring friends in her life to be the “arms of Jesus” to her when she needs a hug! Often at the clinic, we see people at their worst. Like my friend, their lives have been turned upside down and they are upset. We listen to their concerns and wipe their tears and then we ask them if we may pray for them and the new little life they are carrying. Often, we see hope return to their faces and sometimes even a smile as we love them the way Jesus loves them. Thank you for standing in prayer for our clients! Pray for a client who came to us for a pregnancy test and ultrasound. She has an appointment for an abortion but cried the entire time she was here. She seemed to be very unsure of what to do. Pray that she will return for another ultrasound and that the seeds of truth that were planted at her last visit take root. Pray for our marketing and advertising to reach the desired target and those considering abortion would be drawn to our

clinics instead of abortion facilities. Praise for the wonderful Fall Fundraising Banquet we had last month. We welcome many new prayer partners to our team

this month. Praise for the amazing provision and grace God has given this ministry as we have served in East County over the last 25

years and in Southeast San Diego for the last 2 years.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! May the Lord Bless You Abundantly,

Robin Brust Prayer Team Director
