Aloha Radford High School,
We are already half way through the 1st Quarter of school and exams will be approaching shortly. It has been an exciting quarter thus far with numerous events and activities that the students have engaged in.
Please continue to be engaged in your child’s education by supporting and encouraging them to be active students on and off of campus. We have several clubs, athletic teams, and extra curricular activities that will add to their overall experience and education.
I would like to thank all of your for your support this year and look forward to a another productive quarter.
Respectfully,
James L. Sunday

SSTUDENTTUDENT C COUNCILOUNCIL A ANNOUNCEMENTNNOUNCEMENT
Student council held the 60th annual Radford High School home coming celebration! It was a great success! The theme for homecoming was villains. The freshmen picked Teka from the Disney movie Moana. Sophomores had Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. Juniors had Browser from Super Mario Brothers. And the seniors had Darth Vader from Star Wars. They created section decorations for our gym, they created skits, banners and shields for Radford's parade around Foster Village. The seniors took first in Homecoming, Sophomores took second, Freshmen third and Juniors fourth. Our homecoming court had a great homecoming. Our freshmen prince and princess were Christian and Lawena. Our sophomore prince and princess were Charlie and Ryan. Our junior prince and princess were Michael and Kala'i. Our senior prince and princess were Randy and Marika. And our school King and queen were Jack and Lailona. They performed a short dance at the homecoming assembly and rode in beautiful corvettes for our parade and were introduced at the homecoming game 9/15 where our football team played tremendously hard! There was no homecoming dance which means student council will be hosting a Winter Ball this coming winter!

SENIOR LEADERSHIP
With countless summer hours, after school hours, weekend hours; Homecoming was a success. It was such a joy for us to celebrate 60 years of Radford high school with our peers!
We hope everyone enjoyed all the presentations from every Leadership class, and the ground work that makes it all possible from STUCO.
To the underclassmen, enjoy every moment you get to send with those in your class, as cliché as it sounds “time does go by quickly, and you’ll be a senior before you know it!” We bid a farewell as this was our last Homecoming for us SENIORS.
With lots of ALOHA,
Senior Leadership.

JUNIOR LEADERSHIP
The Junior Leadership class was very busy last month with homecoming festivities. It was
another memorable year of homecoming as we worked hard since the summer to prepare and
represent not just our junior class but Radford as our dear school!
We are now working to prepare events for our senior year. Although it may seem as if we
have a ton of time we are certain that the time will go by super fast and before we know it we
will be seniors. We are in the process of planning our senior picnic, senior luau, senior prom
and many other events for next school year.
We are working to make next year a very fun and memorable one for our entire class.
GO RAMS!

SOPHOMORE LEADERSHIP
Aloha Parents and Guardians,
It has been a challenging past couple months for our Sophomore Leadership ohana. Not only
have we worked long hours after school, but many of us took time out of our weekends and
summer to make Homecoming a success. Our skit, section decorations, and parade shields
represent the 2020 Sophomore Class theme: Lilo and Stitch. We were very successful in en-
couraging our class to participate in the events that were held during Homecoming week such
as: Penny Wars, Dress Up Days, and noon hour activities.
We would like to give a big thank you to our family and friends who helped our leadership class
in preparing for Homecoming. Though our class endured many challenges and adversities along
the way, we powered through them with our class motto, “When they go low, we go high” by
Michelle Obama.
Mahalo,
Sophomore Leadership ℅ 2020

FRESHMEN LEADERSHIP
The Freshmen Leadership Class has been working very hard ever since the start of summer. Our mem-
bers have been coming in to work on our section decorations and shields for homecoming. We managed
to complete a section decoration for assembly, a skit, and shields & banner for the parade that per-
tained to the Freshmen Class theme, “Villains of Moana”.
We are proud to announce that the Class of 2021 took 2nd place in class cheer and banner, and placed
third overall. Our leadership class has worked very hard and would like to thank all of those who helped
to make our first homecoming here at Radford a success.

The first option is from the University of Hawaii. Free math tutoring
online is available for any public school student. It is a live session
and tutors are graduate students and upper level undergrads. For

The second option is from a company called tutor.com (http://

ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS
Parents, please refrain from texting or calling your
child during instructional time. If you need to reach
your child please call the office at 421-4200.
Radford’s cell phone policy is that
your student/child may use them before the first bell
of the day and after the last bell of the day. Thank
you for your cooperation in this matter.
Please remind your child/student once they park and leave their car in the
morning, they may NOT access it, or the student parking lot until the last bell
of the day.
An exception would be if the student drove themselves to school and needs to
leave for an appointment, in which case they first need to check out with the
front office.
Mahalo for your assistance and consideration in this campus safety matter.
