The Chevin is a prominent natural feature
rising steeply above the town of Otley.
The lower wooded area gives way to rocky
outcrop and quarry face, culminating in
upland heather slopes from where you can
enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding
countryside. The name ‘Chevin’ probably
comes from the Celtic word ‘Cefn’ meaning
ridge.
