Allah made everything as a means for us to get closer to Him, but instead, we go on wasting our time,

arguing or just being so distracted from our purpose.

The month of Ramadan that has come with a beautiful breeze and we don't want it to get over, this is the

honourable guest that Allah spoke about.

Month of Ramadan. Surah al Baqarah verse 185:

Month of Ramadan is month of the Qur’an. And the Qur’an is the connection with the heavens and earth.

Allah wants ease for us. We are now heading towards its end and Allah made it to be easy for us. Allah

made the fasting easy, the prayer easy, and all the other act of worship easy so we draw closer and be

grateful to Him.

We studied in Surah Nahl that the bees are just focused on their job and are always grateful until they die.

So we need to appreciate and be grateful. Everything Allah gave us is a blessing.

Allah wants us to appreciate us everything in our lives, every blessing that He has bestowed upon us.

And the most beautiful part of Ramadan are the last ten days of the month.

And among these 30 days;

The first ten days are a warm up. Recharging our souls and recharging our Emaan. Getting used to

the routine of Ramadan

The second ten days we plan and are increasing our faith.

The last ten days is when Allah wants us to reach to our peak in our Ibaadah. May Allah make us

from those who do their best. This is the golden opportunity and now nearing the end of the race.

We need to run faster in the end of the race as opposed to the beginning of the race. And this is the

time to rise; Our last golden opportunity!!

Allah (swt) said in Aale Imraan:

Allah is telling us to hasten towards the forgiveness. The shares are getting higher... We need to hasten

towards forgiveness of Allah, we need to hasten towards paradise. Grab the last opportunity because we

don’t know if we will live till the next.

When Ramadan gets over then it's not easy to earn Hasaanat (good deeds) as in Ramadan.

What did the Prophet (saw) do?

He would make more effort in Ramadan than he would in any other month.

And in the last ten nights of Ramadan, he would make effort more than he would than in the rest of the

days.

And how did he (saw) utilize the last 10 days of Ramadan?

a. Last ten days of Ramadan Prophet (saws) used to make the night bright like day. And if you notice,

The nights of Ramadan are so different compared to the other nights.. so tranquil and peaceful.

And the Last 10 days of Ramadan are even more beautiful. So the Prophet saw would stay up all

night.

b. And he (saw) would liven up his nights by awaking his family to protect from hell fire.

c. He (saw) would tighten his belt to work even harder.

Now that we learnt how our beloved Prophet use to utilize his last 10 nights, what should we be doing?

How should we be welcoming these nights?

We have to start the preparation from within us; from our hearts.

My concern my intention should be renewed, always keep checking ourselves. Matter of faith is not like a

default button, that whenever you wish you turn it on and turn off. Faith is to always reset your system

and to renew your intention. While you’re in the prayer, you need to constantly renew your intention and

gather your heart.

Allah says in Surah israa:

Our intention should be desiring the Aakhirah. Whatever you earn and live in this Dunya will leave you

when you die. So make your concern and focus your Aakhirah. And this is something that’s not so easy,

we have to make efforts and struggle for it. We have to remind ourselves that there is a meeting with

Allah.

And when we make this struggle towards Him, and make Him and attaining His forgiveness our only

concern-- He will appreciate every bit of our effort.

If a human being whom Allah has honoured does not appreciate or worship Allah, then Allah is able to

replace him with others who will worship Him and make Him their concern, even though He is Al Ghaniy

(the Most Rich) and needs no one.

Now that we have prepped our heart to welcome these beautiful 10 night of Ramadan, we need to:

1. Be truthful with ourselves.

Make your concern Aakhirah, to be close to Him, to attain His forgiveness. Investigate your intentions.

And ask yourself, are you actually being truthful and sincere? We need to have Taqwa in order to be

truthful. Am I truly struggling for the sake of Allah or am I just following my desire?

So remember Allah only wants our devotion—Laa illaha illa Allah. I’m doing good deeds. In

Ramadan it is important to focus on ourselves and how I want to do ibaadah. Am I being truthful

in my worship? This is very important.

2. Have Tawwakul (reliance upon Allah swt)

We need to rely in Allah swt. We need to constantly keep a check on ourselves that am I doing it

for Allah. We need to rely only in Allah swt to fast, to pray, to stand up for the Qiyaam al Layl. La

hawla wala quwatta illa billa. Our hearts need to be constantly turned and directed to Him.

Allah says in surah al An’am: 102:

هذ لكم بكم الل ه ل ار القهو إلاإل ء كل خ بدوهش ي اع هو ف ىو ل ء كل ع كيل ش ي و

Allah, our Rabb is the one who is going to be reforming us, we cannot achieve anything by

ourselves. We need to be attached to Him and Him alone, because He is in charge of everything.

Allah swt has created us, and He is the One who has blessed us with hearing, sight, have us

witness Ramadan.. Laylatul Qadr, the days & the nights, and created everything around us for our

benefit. And all Allah commands us to do is to worship Him alone and even for this He tells us to

rely on Him subhan Allah!

I will worship only Allah with complete reliance on Him. Don't rely on anyone just remove “I &

me” from the calculations because we are nothing. We are slaves who have no power we don't

own anything, we don't even own ourselves. But as soon as we try and take charge of our affairs,

we fail. It’s to remind us of who is in control and who we should actually we be relying on. And

our test in life is not about our power or intelligence. Rather it is about how much we rely on Him

and how much we appreciate Him.

3. Istighfaar

We need to increase in Istighfaar, because our sins are the things that make good deeds have upon

us. So we need to ask Allah for forgiveness constantly as Allah

We need to be humble and seek for forgiveness.

Don't even show off with yourself. Don't feel proud of your ibaadah. Don't put yourself in any

picture , no self-glorification, because when you do so, you will fall into pride and we need to

remind ourselves that Iblees was removed from Jannah due to his arrogance although he was one

of the best worshippers of Allah!

4-GRATITUDE

We need gratitude. The above all is we need before entering the ten nights. Use whatever Allah

has given to be grateful to Allah to worship Him. Be grateful that Allah has blessed you with Ilm

(knowledge). Be grateful that you are praying. Be grateful that you are listening to the Quran. Be

grateful that you are learning about Him. Be grateful that you have a roof over your head…

And the more we are grateful, the more Allah will increase us in good. So don't complain & be

grateful of everything Allah has blessed you with.

So now why do we prepare and anxiously wait for the night of Laylatul Qadr? Why do we spend so

many hours and days just to get to one night?

Laylatul Qadr is from its position and from its tightening. At tadheeq meaning the earth getting

tight as so many malaikah (angels) coming down to earth.

Malaikah have jobs to come down due to purposes like taking soul or for study circles. But on that night

Allah has commanded them to come down. Du’as are accepted. Tranquillity surrounds. And the Qadr

(Decree) is due to its reward better than thousand months. It will be tight as the angles descend on this

night of decree. And this means Allah will write everything that will happen to us until the following year.

What Allah said about laylatul Qadr surat al-Qadr

Allah swt said that Allah sent the Quran in the night of decree. What makes us know that it's so

important?

If we pray laylatul Qadr it is as if prayer 1000 months. If we are grateful to Him on that night its as I was

grateful for a 1000 months!

The angles who come down with permission of Allah. It's all according to our heart. We need to refresh

our faith be truthful rely on Allah be humble Allah will help and grant us this night.

Tell Allah I have the intention I have faith I believe in the reward I have hope I have the feeling I want to

do the ibaadah then Allah will help

on that night there will be peace until Fajr. We ask Allah with all his names and attributes. May Allah make

us rely only on Him. And never make me rely on myself. And may Allah never make us of those people

who have pride.
