The musical show is set in the dark, poverty-stricken era of 19th century London and features the story of deadly Sweeney Todd. The murderous barber wreaks his revenge on an unjust world from his styling chair by slitting his victims’ throats, stealing their worldly belongings and disposing of the bodies by baking them into pies and selling them to unsuspecting customers at Mrs Lovett’s pie shop. Sweeney Todd will arrive at The Blakehay Theatre, in Wadham Street, tomorrow (Thursday) and stay until Saturday. There will be a 7.30pm performance each night and a matinee performance on Saturday at 2.30pm. Previous tours have seen them supporting the likes of Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, Green Day and the Foo Fighters. They have released six studio albums, with their most recent, Future Hearts, soaring to number one in the UK album charts after selling 20,000 copies in its first week.
