WELCOMECHAMPIONSHIPCHAMPIONSHIPCHAMPIONSHIP

WELCOMEDear Basketball Fans:

Welcome to the inaugural All-American Championship!

Our goal from the start has been to provide avid fans of college basketball the chance to see the next generation of All-Americans in person. We believe we have done just that.

The players you are going to see today have committed to play for some of the nation’s elite college basketball programs – Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Boston College, Connecticut, Duke, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Rutgers, St. John’s, Stanford, Texas, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Villanova, and West Virginia. They represent the best that high school basketball has to offer.

I would be remiss if I did not offer gratitude to our selection committee - Paul Biancardi (ESPN.com), Eric Bossi (Rivals.com), Frank Burlison (Long Beach Press-Telegram), Evan Daniels (Scout.com), Clark Francis (Hoop Scoop), Joel Francisco (ESPN.com), Rob Harrington (Prep Stars), Jason Hickman (Max Preps), Jim Hicks (RCS Sports, Houston), Tom Konchalski (High School Basketball Illustrated), and Chris Lawlor (New York Daily News). The knowledge and passion these gentlemen have for high school basketball is unparalleled and their being a part of this event lends to it a high degree of credibility. Thank you for your time and effort in making the All-American Championship a success.

I also offer special thanks to adidas, Gatorade, and ESPN.

Last, and most important, I thank the players and coaches for their participation. We did not formally announce the All-American Championship until late January, yet they agreed to participate in our inaugural event. It is our goal to provide a truly memorable experience for each and every one of them.

Enjoy the games!

Rick GilesPresidentGazelle Group

P.S. We look forward to seeing you next year in New Orleans.

ABOUT THE EVENTCHAMPIONSHIPCHAMPIONSHIPCHAMPIONSHIP

ABOUT THE EVENTThe Gazelle Group is proud to announce the

launch of a high school boys basketball invitational tournament - the All-American Championship - to take place annually during the men’s collegiate basketball championship.

“This is an idea whose time has come,” says Rick Giles, president of The Gazelle Group. “The nation’s focus is on basketball during March and the fi rst weekend of April and there is no better way to increase that focus than to bring the nation’s best high school basketball players to the city of the men’s collegiate basketball championship to compete in what will be one of the premier events of its kind in the country.”

The inaugural All-American Championship is being held in Houston, Texas, site of the men’s collegiate basketball championship, on April 3, 2011. The event consists of four teams repre-senting each region of the country. The double-header will open with the North facing the South, followed by the East vs. the West in the nightcap. The games are being played at the 6,400-seat M.O. Campbell Educational Center.

A panel of high school basketball experts reviewed all candidates and selected the teams. Each team is being coached by a head coach of a nationally-prominent high school program and assisted by a coach from the host city of the men’s collegiate basketball championship (Houston for 2011).

“National interest in high school basketball and recruiting is at an all-time high,” says Giles. “With the proliferation of television coverage and recruiting websites and magazines, fans are more aware than ever of the premier high school players. This is an opportunity for these players to showcase their talent on the biggest stage in the country.”

The All-American Championship provides avid fans of college basketball the chance to see the next generation of All-Americans in person.

ABOUT THE EVENTCHAMPIONSHIPCHAMPIONSHIPCHAMPIONSHIP

ABOUT THE EVENTM.O. Campbell CenterThe M.O. Campbell Center is Aldine ISD's multi-purpose facility, hosting a wide array of events from graduations and theatrical performances, athletic tournaments and conferences, to banquets and more.

The Campbell Center is named after former Aldine ISD superintendent M.O. Campbell. One of the premier and world class facilities in Hous-ton, it stretches across a vast area of 111,000 square feet and features state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. Sporting events, award ceremonies, conferences, lectures, and recep-tions are regularly held here. The Campbell Center is conveniently located 3.5 miles south-west of the George Bush Intercontinental airport (IAH) and just 12 miles north of spectacular downtown Houston.

Houston, TexasHouston is the fourth-largest city in the United States and the largest in Texas, with a population in excess of 2.3 million. Houston’s economy has a broad industrial base in the energy, manufac-turing, aeronautics, transportation, and health care sectors and is a leading center for building oilfi eld equipment. Only New York City is home to more Fortune 500 headquarters in the city limits. The gross area product (GAP) of the greater Houston metropolitan area, which includes 5.9 million people, was $440.4 billion in 2008.

Did You Know…In 1969, “Houston” was the fi rst word spoken from the moon. The Apollo 11 mission established a place in history for the city when astronaut Neil Armstrong spoke the now-famous line, “Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed.”

The city of New Orleans will be the site of the 2012 All-American Championship.

From the world-renowned French Quarter and Bourbon Street, to its many 19th century mansions, to its boutique stores and antique shops, to the best jazz in the world, New Orleans offers something for everyone. And don’t forget the country’s biggest party, Mardi Gras. That is why New Orleans is ranked among the 10 most visited cities in the country.

There is simply no other city like New Orleans. Music of all kinds bursts from clubs across the city. People from Uptown to the Ninth Ward argue over which restaurant serves the best gumbo and barbecue shrimp (and usually settle the dispute with more eating). A history unlike any other feels so close you can almost touch it.

New Orleans is also resilient. Since 2005, New Orleans has rebuilt its infrastructure, its industry, its spirit, and its reputation. And sports are one

of the cornerstones of the rebuilding. College football events such as the Bayou Classic, New Orleans Bowl, and Sugar Bowl returned for the 2006-2007 season. The New Orleans Saints returned that season as well, following specula-tion of a move and gave the city what it had been yearning for – a Super Bowl title in 2010. The New Orleans Hornets returned to the city fully for the 2007-2008 season, having partially spent the 2006-2007 season in Oklahoma City. New Orleans successfully hosted the 2008 NBA All-Star Game and the 2008 BCS National Championship Game. The city hosted the fi rst and second rounds of the 2007 NCAA Men’s Di-vision I Basketball Tournament and will host the semifi nals and fi nals of the 2012 NCAA Men’s Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.

New Orleans is about celebrating the amazing things that happen there every day and being a part of a uniquely magical culture and community.
