Alexandra Nechita
Alexandra Nechita was born in Romania on August 27 1985. She began
drawing at the age of two. By seven years old Alexandra was painting with
oils and acrylics on canvas. She had her first solo exhibition at the age eight at a local public library in Los Angeles.
Alexandra’s talent and passion for art making was instantly recognized as
crowds came to see her often monumental paintings. Though her career
as an artist manifested at a young age, it has endured and continues to
thrive. She continues to spend her time experimenting with her first love of painting, but feels most fulfilled when she is able to work interchangeably between mediums ranging from metal sculpture to glass work.
While she works tirelessly to pursue artistic and formal endeavors within her
practice, she is compelled to find ways to advocate for the arts and to share the unmatched power of the arts as a form of activism. Alexandra
is dedicated to working to increase the opportunity for peaceful conflict resolution, through dialogue in the arts and peace building. She graduated
from UCLA School Of the Arts in 2008 and is currently living and working in
Los Angeles.
