Martin Luther King was a man who fought for civil rights. He did everything possible to fight for freedom. He knew what he wanted and what he needed to accomplish by the end of his life and succeded. The only thing he wanted was freedom. His life and family. Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15,1929 and was raised up their. His education was pretty good, although he skipped 9th and 12 th grade and went to college without graduating high school. He got married in 1953, to a woman called, “Coretta Scott”. They had four children, “ Yolanda, Martin, Dexter and Bernice”. Mr. Luther King won three awards in his lifetime: the, “Nobel Peace prize” the, “Presedential Award of Freedom” and the,”Congressional Gold Medal”. He held lots of meetings about what he wanted the world to be like with the freedom he was fighting for and about all his protests. The most famous one was the, “I have a dream” speech which took place in August, and it went on for 17 minuets . It was ranked “Top American Speech” of the 20 th century. What he fought for and why? Martin Luther King fought for freedom and civil rights because he

wanted the black people to have the right to drink from any water fountain, sit wherever they wanted on

the bus, go to the bathroom and, to go to certain restaraunts . The only problem was that all the white

people did not like that, not even the police.

Marin Luther King was shot when he was out on a balcony. The Lorraine Motel, where King was

assassinated, now the site of the National Civil Rights Museum. His grave is buried with his wife.
