Theme or focus of images When looking for music photographers I did a basic search into google and found Alex Reside, I went to his website and looked through his portfolio and just liked how his photos looked, they were so natural and in the moment kind of thing and thought I will definitely use this for my work. The photos were taken at the artists gig which means they were caught in the moment of what they love to do and I think this is just so real and amazing and if I was to do not pacifically music based but just people doing what they love and photographing it. When looking at the photos they were all taken at some sort of arena/festival or show which to me makes me think how did they get the lighting so good because I don’t think they could use artificial lighting in that sort of environment. CompositionWhen it comes the composition in these types of shots this to do position of the camera, whether to not to zoom in and also where to stand. As for this type of photographer because of the subject moving around (artist preforming) they would need to be moving around quite quickly getting lots of different shots from different angles. When they are shooting the subject they would need to get the most important thing in the shot, meaning less of a busy background and more focusing on the model. If the photographer would of zoomed out of stood further away some additional information could be seen like for more example the background maybe more of the set the artist is performing on or the crowd dancing and singing along to the artist.

Techniques usedWhen it comes to techniques used within these photographs first of all let’s start with shutter speed. I think it would vary from photo to photo because the lighting is very different in every situation, shutter speed would be fast in most cases because the photographer wouldn’t want to have the photos overexposed and also a slow shutter speed causes camera blur. Moving onto rule of third, when it comes to his type of photography I don’t think the photographer would have this type of technique in mind only because how fast he has to work and to get the perfect shot at the right time. Finally onto depth of field the photos above range from wide to narrow depth of field because of how close and far away the photographer is to the subject.

Strengths & WeaknessesWhen it comes to what I like with these pictures, I definitely love how they are in the moment and just so real and how you can see an actual artist performing for their fans and seeing all their hard work and determination in the photos. Moving onto things I dislike and I strong dislike this is that too much of a busy background ruins the photo and I think it would come about a lot better. Now on how it can influence my work and I really like the idea and subject of all this, instead of taking photos of music artists maybe take pictures of random people or friends doing what they love. Nothing to be set up just watching them and photographer them being themselves and doing something real and what they are passionate in.
