Alex Cognac
My name is Alex Cognac, and I am a professional race car driver. Recently, I have had a lot of success in karting. Next year I am moving up to the F1600 championship series and then going on to race in the Indycar developmental series. One of my biggest goals in racing is to race in the GP of Monaco, Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in the same day! I know that might sound like a really bold thing to try, but I have always been a bold person. When I was 12, I walked into Felix Sabates’ mercedes dealership by myself to see if they would partner with my racing and Felix himself called me into his office and gave me $400 cash from his pocket! That is something I want to inspire in others: to go after what you want in life and think BIG! You can learn more about my racing and connect with me on my social media by going to my website: www.cognacracing.com

My Story: When I was born, my dad didn't know the slightest thing about racing, well other than crazy guys driving fast cars. Lucky for me but unluckily for my dad, my uncle was a huge race fan.
When I was just three years old my uncle brought me to tour Joe Gibbs racing just at the time that haulers coming from Daytona were getting back and being unloaded. While I was sitting on my uncle's shoulders one of the crew members walked up to me and asked if I wanted to wear tony stewarts race helmet. I was too shy at the time but now I cant wait to get a helmet on my head and a race suit on.
I now race in the United States Rotax Max Challenge next year i will be moving up into formula cars in the f1600 Championship Series. I have hopes of moving through the formula car ranks to end up racing around the world on the Formula One circuit.

About the time that I started karting I was in seventh grade and over the summers I work at a summer camp at my old elementary school. One summer I had a girl in my group by the name, Isabella Santos. Isabella was one of the nicest people I had ever met. Isabella was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma.
I was informed a year or two later that Isabella had passed away. Ever since I have wanted to try and find a way to work with the Isabella Santos Foundation. I have the plan of supporting the Isabella Santos Foundation later this year and hopefully we will create a long lasting relationship.
