The camp closing ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Aleut Picnic hosted by the
Aleut Foundation, on Saturday June 25 at 12pm at The Aleut Plaza on 4000 Old Seward Hwy.
BRING A DISH TO SHARE!
There will be a bus to transport camp participants from APIA at 11:45pm and will return by 3pm.
General Information
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY JUNE 3.
Remember to bring unfinished projects.
Elders are welcome anytime during camp—morning, afternoon, or evening.
BE RESPECTFUL TO ELDERS, OTHERS AND UNANGAM ULAA (APIA building)!
Please attend class each day; this eliminates disruption to instructors and other participants.
Please sign IN and OUT each day.
Please pick up your child/children on-time.
Please inform us if your child has food allergies, special needs or anything else we should be aware of.
If you DO NOT hear from us, your application has been accepted and you may arrive on the first day.

CORE CLASSES: All youth will be scheduled to Unangam Tunuu (language) and educational presentations if
applicable. Look for your group on the daily schedule.
ELECTIVES: Please select up to 4 Elective classes below. Number choices 1-4, with 1 as your top choice, 2 as
your second choice, 3 as your third choice, and so forth. Leave it blank if you want us to make assignments. Some
class sizes are limited. We will do our best to accommodate your choices.
REGALIA: If you are a member of the Anchorage Unangax Dance group and you do not have a personal Rega-
lia, or if you started one but have not finished it, you are encouraged to spend the afternoons (1pm to 5pm) work-
ing on your Regalia so that you can work toward getting your own Regalia completed or near complete!

Sewing: Regalia or Headdresses with Ann Nevzoroff
You will need to purchase supplies if you wish to start regalia during camp or bring one you have already started. You can get the supplies at Black Elk Or Tandy Leather. If you select to make a Regalia, you have the option to spend all afternoon, from 1pn to 5pm, to work on your Regalia.
Supplies you need to purchase for making Regalia. Call if you have questions:
~ 17 square feet of rust leather
~ 7-8 square feet of off white leather (12-15 sq ft if using only 2 colors)
~ 7-8 square feet of a 3rd color
~ A couple rolls of red and black cord, 1/8" wide leather lace.. for the woven strips..
~ Glover needles, size 7 or the next size larger
Kayak Building with Marc Daniels is tentative. Select as an additional option if you are interested.

I do hereby knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, chances, and hazards relating to any personal losses or injuries which may
occur during any period of time for the activity which my child is participating. I therefore agree to hold harmless, to defend, and in-
demnify Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association, Inc. (APIAI) and its officers, agents, employees, directors and designees from any and
all claims, demands, causes of action or liability or for expenses relating to injuries, accidents, disease, property damage and/or prop-
erty loss which may occur as a result of my child’s participation in the Urban Unangax̂/Aleut Culture Camp 2016 sponsored by Aleu-
tian Pribilof Islands Association, Inc. at 1131 E. International Airport Rd., Anchorage, AK 99518 on June 19 - 25, 2016 except such
claims, demands, causes of action or liability which may be directly attributable to intentional acts of agents or employees of APIAI.
I understand that APIAI does not provide medical insurance coverage which would cover a student's injuries or actions. It wil l
be my responsibility to provide for payment of such expenses should they occur. I am aware of the hazards associated with participa-
tion in this camp. Knowing the risks involved in the activities that will occur during the camp, I give my permission for the above listed
student to participate in all scheduled activities. I also authorize any necessary emergency transportation and medical treatment to be
administered to the above named student. I understand APIA assumes no liability for such emergency transportation and medical
treatment and that such costs will be my responsibility.
IF YOUR CHILD HAS ALLERGIES, PLEASE PROVIDE THEIR FOOD. Camp staff are not trained to work with special
needs children. If your child has special needs, an adult must accompany them during camp. Please make prior contact with
us and provide an explanation. Thank you for your understanding.
Media Release: This document confirms the agreement between you and Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association, Inc.
(APIAI) regarding yourself and/or your child’s participation in the Urban Unangax̂ /Aleut Culture Camp 2016 June 19—25, where activ-
ities in which you and/or your child may be photographed, video-taped, or audio-taped (the Property) from time to time.
For valuable consideration received, you hereby irrevocably grant to APIAI perpetually, exclusively, and for all media through-
out the world (including print, non-theatrical, home video, CD-ROM, internet and any other electronic medium presently in existence or
invented in the future), the right to use and incorporate (alone or together with other materials), in whole or in part, photographs, video
footage, or audio taken of you and/or your child as a result of your participation in approved activities of APIAI.
You hereby agree that you will not bring or consent to others bringing claim or action against APIAI on the grounds that any-
thing contained in the Property, or in the advertising and publicity used in connection herewith, is defamatory, reflects adversely on
you, violates any other right whatsoever, including, without limitation, rights of privacy and publicity.
You hereby release APIAI, its officers, agents, employees, directors and designees from and against any and all claims, de-
mands, actions, causes of actions, suits, costs, expenses, liabilities, and damages whatsoever that you may hereafter have against
APIAI in connection with the Property.
This agreement shall not obligate APIAI to use the Property or to use any of the rights granted hereunder, or to prepare, pro-
duce, exhibit, distribute or exploit the Property. APIAI shall have the right to assign its rights hereunder, without your consent, in whole
or in part, to any person, firm or corporation.

In the past, Arctic Roadrunner has donated lunch for our campers. We do not have a confirmed donation yet, but want to have the permission slip ahead of time. If Arctic Roadrunner donates lunch, campers ages 11 to 17 will be accompanied by several adults and will walk the Campbell Creek Trail behind APIA or walk directly down International Airport Road to Arctic Roadrunner. The donation includes a cheeseburger and a coke. If your child would like to purchase additional items, such as French fries, they will need CASH (Arctic Roadrunner takes CASH ONLY.) Next time you dine at Arctic Roadrunner, look for the Aleutian kayak hanging on the wall. It was built by students of the 2010 Urban Unangax Culture Camp!

Info The camp closing ceremony is being held in conjunction with the annual Aleut Picnic. All Campers and their family are welcome! Bus transportation for camp participants will be provided by Reliable Bus Service. If you will be taking your child home from the picnic, please indicate below.
