MESSAGE FROM GLITTER
Dear All,
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that sheshould not have compassion on the son of herwomb? Yea, they may forget, yet I will not forgethee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palm of
my hands; thy walls are continually before me. TheLord assures me in Isaiah 49:15-16.
should like to start my first year of full time workwith ALDC, and indeed, anchor the rest of my life
upon this truth. Recent painful circumstances haveaught me never to rely again on peoples loyalty and
memory as these are like chaff in the wind.
f a mother can forget her own sucking child, whenhe child could not do anything to warrant suchreatment, it is not really a mystery if people will
sometimes treat us unfairly and forget all the goodhat we have done. The most beautiful truth,
however, is that we have a God who has graven usupon the palm of His hands and will never forget allhe labor that we have done in His name.
Hence, it is with such boldness of faith, that Iembrace this significant transition in my life, and
yes, even the future possibilities of being mistreated, misconstrued, marginalized and unappreciated, despite all the good that I had done and would do, inhe very advocacy that I started.
After all, only God can make a righteous judgementand His applause alone matters anyway.
I encourage you to step out on the same faith.Let us all lose ourselves and find it in Jesus.
As you contemplate on ways of loving God and Hischildren more, will you also pray and consider tohelp our small ministry? Your gift will go a long wayand can be used in various ways.
Finally, and most importantly, the main aim of thisannual newsletter, is to prove to you how faithful, kind and good our God is in sustaining His work.It is simply just breathtaking!
We pray that you will find the time to read ournewsletter and that you will be encouraged throughits many contents.
Please know that we are extremely grateful for yourprayers, kindness and generosity to ALDC.
Sincerely yours,
Glitter H. MoreoCauayan, Philippines10 April 2013, 4:48 AM

3RD MOVING-UP CEREMONY
The ALDC held its Third Moving-Up Ceremony onMarch 23, 2013. It was a whole day affair, divided
into three main events - Baccalaureate, Family Timeand Graduation. The day started with a baccalaureate
service in the morning. Pastor Eusebio Moreo, theALDC chaplain, spoke in the event. It was followed by aspecial presentation of the children called The Little
Dreamers. The nursery and kinder pupils did a numbertogether comprised by songs, poems and Bible verses. Most noticeably, our twospecial children were also up on the stage joining the performance to the delightof everyone! For lunch, the ALDC community ate together at the churchs lawn.Every family brought food and it was memorable as some parents came homejust to be with their children for the occasion.
Finally, the moving-up ceremony, which was the highlight of the day, took place at 1PM. Mrs Remy Oguilla, a family development workerfor manyyears was the speaker. She gave a touching talk about the children getting aChristian foundation that would matter for a lifetime from home, school andchurch. Mr Alejandro Castillo, was the DepEd representative to confirm themoving-up of our children. Lastly, the ALDC alma mater was officially sung forthe first time. It was truly a meaningful day to see the faithfulness of the Lord inthe lives of the children and in the ALDC.
SEC, BIR, DEPED: WE ARE LEGAL! After many months of processing and toiling on, the ALDC has nowofficial and legal existence under the Philippine laws. We were officiallyregistered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on June 2012as a non-profit, non-government organization (NGO). Simultaneously, we thenapplied for registration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) so we couldissue official receipts in our financial transactions, and we also applied forpermit to operate with the Department of Education (DepEd). We did not haveto wait long with the BIR, but it took us months, many requirements and paperrevisions to comply with DepEd. Happily, On January 2013, after a long waitand exhausting bureaucracy, and with no single amount given for bribe fees, wewere officially granted a two-year permit to operate, effectively from 2012-2014. We are left with two renewals of permit, as a private school is onlyallowed to operate for four years under a permit. Within these four years, we
shall need to comply with the rest of big requirements, like getting a good andproper school building, and then we will be granted a recognition to operatepermanently.
RENOVATION WORK STARTED!
Renovation work has started to improve the ALDC classrooms.Using the gift that our OFWs in Cornerstone Church in Cambodia gave, weaim to replace the foundation of the walls with a more sturdy structure, renovatethe flooring, and repair the roof. We will also upgrade Teacher Hazelsclassroom, where both the Nursery class and SPED sessions are held. Finally,we will also construct a playground before the next school year begins. Thiswill be initially comprised by a seesaw, swing, monkey bars, wheel tunnels andbenches. The ALDC is temporarily using the left wing and the back of ShekinahGlory Baptist Church, while money is being raised to construct its official andpermanent building by 2015.

We hold a Saturday class
in two outreach centers,
coastal and upland, in
Matab-ang, not far from the
ALDC. Children learn about
Jesus and other basicinformation about their
surroundings through this
class.
Daniela Ogahayon, 10, has
been one of our most faithful
students for the last two
years. Every Saturday
morning, she wakes up early
to do her household chores
and get her two younger
siblings, Daphne (5) and
Daniel (4), ready.
Home to the Ogayahon
family is a small house made
up of light indigenous
materials in Pasto, where our
upland center is. By the time
we, (usually I and my sister
Cutie), pass by at their home,
the Ogahayon siblings are
ready to join us farther up to
the hills where our class
takes place.Daniela likes to sing songsabout Jesus, listen to Bible
stories and memorise Bible
verses. Indeed, she always
wins in our Bible quizzes!
The class has also helped her
to be sociable and
responsible.
Our Saturday classes have a
combined average
attendance of 45 children,
excluding young adults and
parents who often attend too.Our upland center is in Pasto
and our coastal center is in
Bay-Bay.
We usually leave the ALDC
at eight in the morning and
we teach in Pasto first. The
road up to Pasto is steep and
is more difficult to tread on
when it rains.

Jean Rose Baynosa, 4, has received three awards in the
Third Moving-Up Ceremony of ALDC held on March 23,
2013. A pupil in the nursery class, she received the
following recognitions: Well-Improved, Good in Writingand Good in Recitation. Her two brothers, too, have
received academic and character awards.
Since I got my bike, Rolling Stone, on February 2012,
I have been riding regularly to Parola, a picturesque seaside
village, about seven kilometers away from my parents
home. I always stop at the mini-park, which is overlooking
the vast ocean, alongside the national road, and watch the
world go by. It was there that I met the Baynosa children.
After a few weeks, I have formed a friendship with the
children, and I realized that the three of them could study at
the ALDC.
There are seven children in the Baynosa family; Aljessa
(15), Patrick (14), Angie Rose (11), Elgie Boy (9), Alejandro
Jr. (8), Argie (5) and Jean Rose (4). Together with their
parents, they are living in a one-roomed small rickety house
on bamboo stilts in Parola. Their father, Alejandro Sr. (60),
supports them by subsistence fishing and farming, and
occasionally, by accepting simple carpentry jobs. To
supplement his income, his wife, Jessica (39), does laundry
for other people. Moreover, as a family, they collectively
earn money by making and selling candles. The children
scavenge melted candles at cemeteries in neighboringvillages which their parents melt and form into candles
again. The children then peddle these, and they sell a dozen
for 10 pesos ($0.25). The incomes from all the mentioned
endeavors are meager, and often, the family cannot eat
complete meals a day.
Naturally, the childrens education has been greatly affected
by their poverty. The three older children, Aljessa, Angie
Rose and Elgie Boy, are behind in their levels as they started
attending school late. Moreover, Patrick only finished the
first grade in elementary school as he had to drop out from
school in order to accept odd jobs and contribute into thefamilys income.
Happily, things started to look bright when the three
youngest children in the family, Alejandro Jr, Argie, and
Jean Rose, were given the chance to study at the ALDC.
After ten months of learning, the boys are now ready to
enter elementary school and Jean Rose will level up to the
Kinder class the following school year 2013-14.
As expected, the process of empowering this family has not
been easy as we have mostly been dealing with structured
values. Firstly, it had takem me a number of times toconvince the parents to send their children to ALDC despite
the promise of free education.
When eventually they had agreed to, the next
challenge was on how to get them involved
in the education of their children, especially
in reinforcing learning at home and attending
school activities.
Also, it was sometimes a financial struggle
for me and the teachers as there were other
needs like fares, food, and other school costs,
that were not covered in the scholarship. One
of the three sponsors of the siblings, too,
failed to give anything.
Seeing Jean Rose and her two brothers come
up to the stage to receive their awards on that
day, however, has put every perspective into
place. Indeed, there are many positive
changes in the manners of the children and
their parents because of the ALDC; most of
all, they were able to know Jesus. I, and the
rest of the team, will continue to serve the
Baynosa family for as long as necessary, as
we know that transforming values require a
great deal of time.
We are grateful for the Baynosa sponsors
and to some parents in ALDC who also
helped in giving the siblings clothes, and
school supplies. We will be happy to have
Jean Rose back next school year, along with
two other new children in Parola who have
applied for scholarship.

LIBRARY
NOW. The number of our borrowers
one-time and return) decreased from
234 in the SY 2011-12 to only 99 in
he SY 2012-13. The main reason for
his is that the recent batch of pupils
and parents were not as keen in
reading as the previous ones. The pre-
school community make up the main
borrowers of books. The circulationfor young professionals, on the other
hand, is about the same.
TOMORROW.To optimize the
ibrary, we plan to have a room-to-
room campaign in the nearest public
high school, Florentina Caa Recto
Memorial National High School, on
July 2013. The school does not have
a big library and we will encourage
he students to avail of our resources.
We will also have a promotion in
neighboring churches to get a specific
sector for our Christian literature.
Lastly, we will start a book club that
will especially target Elementary
pupils from neighboring public
schools aged 10-up.
PRE-SCHOOL
NOW. We have established a
curriculum framework called the
Double S Program that aims
toward the development of an
academic aptitude and the formation
of Christian character of the children,
effectively producing Smart and
Straight children. Our quality
education is beginning to be known.Seven in our last years graduates
who have enrolled in public
elementary schools were in the top 10
at the end of the school year. Two,
have topped their respective classes.
TOMORROW. We plan to join
ACSI to have a linkage with other
Christian schools and for our teachers
to have an annual training. Also,
beginning this year, we will organize
an annual academic and cultural
competition among private pre-
schools to provide a significant
dimension in the preschool life of our
children.
SPECIAL EDUCATION
NOW. We had two children with
special needs in our first year of
offering SPED at ALDC. One is
diagnosed with developmental delay
or mental retardation, and the other
one, will be officially diagnosed on
June of this year. The ten months in
school have been very significant for
these precious boys. They can now
understand simple instructions, and
have gained a wider vocabulary.
TOMORROW. We are keen to give
a bigger emphasis on our SPED the
next school year. Hazel, our licensed
SPED teacher, will stay with us for
one more year to oversee the
establishment of the program in
ALDC. We will continue to
mainstream our children with special
needs in regular classes, but Hazel
will have a one-on-one session witheach of them to specifically address
their needs. Our two boys will return
to ALDC and we are going to have a
few more.
SATURDAY OUTREACH
We hold a Saturday class in two
outreach centers, coastal and upland,
in Matab-ang, not far from the
ALDC, attended by a combined
average of 45 children, excluding
young adults and parents who often
attend too. This is a significant
program because of the following:
1) It teaches about Jesus;
2) It reinforces the basic lessons
children receive from public schools;
3) It serves as an informal learning
avenue for children who do not attend
school at all.
SUMMER OUTREACH
Beginning this year, the ALDC will
hold an annual summer reading
awareness and book-giving
campaign. Getting children and
adults to read is a main advocacy ofthe ALDC. This will also be a good
time to give away the donated books,
toys and clothes to individuals in
depressed areas.
O P E R A T I O N A L S E R V I C E S
F U N D S M A N A G E M E N TBUILDING FUND
We need to have a school building
where all our learning services,
ncluding the programs for out-of-
chool youth, and adults with low
iteracy levels, can be given properly
n the future. To comply with the
Department of Education we must
have the building by 2015.
Donations for the building are kept
n this account.
AUXILIARY FUND
As a non-profit group, we rely on
others help to look after our staff
members. The salaries and benefits
of our teachers are paid from the
Auxiliary fund. We have a few
committed individuals who give for
salaries regularly. We hope to get
more salary sponsors for the next
school year, to cover our deficit and
small increase in salaries.
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
We charge small tuition and
miscellaneous fees to help the
preschool get by. Since most of our
students come from very poor
families, we make them scholars
under our Scholarship Program.
Practically, it is having someone pay
for a childs one year study costs at
the ALDC.
LIBRARY FUND
Our library membership is
renewable annually. Membership
fees, along with library monthly
pledges, are the sources for this
account. We are using the library
fund for our Saturday outreach, and
for other special outreach activities,
like our reading and book giving
campaign this summer.

From theoffice of Action Cambodia, I went to the HaleysOrphanage. Dr Augustus Dumaligan, his wifeLorenza and their daughter Rhoda, were livingthere, and I was invited to spend the night withthem. The Dumaligans, a Filipino missionaryfamily, were part of the Cornerstone team.
Feb 8. The time has come for me to see theChong Ek and Toul Sleng. I know it sounds crazybut I have been grieving since my visit to the WarMuseum and Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam. Warhistory is my thing, but it is entirely differentwhen you are in the places where it happened. I
had to see the places of the evil of the KhmerRouge as my way of fully accepting that theloving God I knew all my life had indeed allowedsuch things to happen and He was sovereign.
After lunch we went to see S-21. I took my timeand wrote on one of the guestbooks. There aresimply no words to sympathize with you on theunspeakable tragedy that took place in yourlovely country. Yet I promise to do whatever I canto help Cambodia recover in Jesus love andkindness, the only way I know how.
Later that night, I cried and cried. Oh the millionswho died because of the evil in the world. And in
that moment, my faith is affirmed that Jesus hasalways loved Cambodia, and even if I will neverunderstand why... I know that if I cant trace Hishand I can trust His heart.

MY FIRST YEAR OF
TEACHING
by Hazel H. Moreo
I never thought that I would want to become a
teacher. I was very shy and withdrawn as a child
and a teenager. In 2007, however, I took up
Special Education (SPED), because I knew I had
the calling to serve the special children.
The number of recorded children with special
needs in the Philippines has been increasing from
more than eight million in 2009, and yet there are
only about 300 public SPED schools in the
country, one of which is in Bacolod city. Bacolod
is the capital of Negros Occidental, and usually,
SPED schools can only be found in capital or
major cities. Often, many of the special children
living in the countryside are left unserved.
It is for this rationale that my sister Glitter added
SPED in the education framework of the ALDC.
In June 2012, we officially started our SPEDprogram, and significantly, my teaching career.
Teaching children with special needs is
challenging but fulfilling to any teacher. Almost
everything that I experienced in my first year of
teaching was first to me. For one, I handled the
Nursery class which mainstreamed two
children with exceptional needs.
Things started easy; I was living in my parents
home, absolutely in a comfort zone. As I got to
know all my children, however, with their unique
needs and behaviours, things became harder.
One of my two special children has
Developmental Delay. At fist, he did not want to
talk to me, look at me or even stay inside the
classroom without her mother. But after many
months of patience, which I did not know I could
have, and with the help of the supportive family
of this child, he can now listen and participate in
a classroom setting, and can say plenty of words
clearly. My other special child, on the
other hand, has not been properly
diagnosed yet, but he has a neurological
problem that affects his speech, communication
and attention. I always had to spend time withhim first before making him join the class
activities. At the end of the school year, however,
he has developed an eye contact, he knows his
name and joins in the singing of actions songs.
Of course teaching is challenging. I had to sweat
it out even with my regular children. But, oh what
joy, to witness the potential of a child blossom
everyday. To hear them recite the
alphabet, Bible verses, and say their
prayers... To guide their hands for many
months and eventually see them write their names
on their own.
My first year of teaching is truly meaningful, and
one that I will always cherish in my heart.
S A T U R D A Y O U T R E A C H ....... FROM PAGE 2We collect the children who are living along the
way, and together, we
go up to our open air
classroom, on the
front yard of a home,
overlooking the
farming fields, thenational road and the
sea. Three hours later,
we will be at our
second center.
Our Saturday
Outreach is growing,
and I am very happy to
see children know more about the God who loves
them and how they can show love to others.

The politics of the Middle East can be murky
and confusing. But one thing is increasingly
certain: the eyes of the nations are riveted upon
Israel and her neighbors, the epicenter of the
momentous events shaking our world and shaping
our future. This statement at the back of the
book really caught my attention and encouragedme to read the book.
I first met Joel Rosenberg and his book,
Epicenter, in the ALDC library. Indeed, the
library has been providing me with many books
to read and has introduced me to different authors
like John Piper, Randy Alcorn, Charles Swindoll,
Bill Johnson, Francine Rivers and a lot more.
After reading Epicenter, I became more interested
in eschatology and I was encouraged to read more
of Joel Rosenbergs books, especially his novels.
Epicenter, is a non-fiction literary masterpiece
about Joels interpretations and studies of theBible specifically on Ezekiel 38 and 39.

13 February 13Sarahs apartment, Sara Buri, Thailand12:28 AMThe conference was about the Transformation inCambodia. Loren Cunningham, the founder, wasthe speaker. There are 14,736 villages in Cambodiaand 10,000+ villages are still unreached. The goal
of YWAM was to see a church in every village by2021.

the Cambodian worship at 8AM and the Filipinoworship attended by OFWs at 10:30 AM. I spoke atthe second worship. I gave a testimony of my walkwith Jesus and shared the work of the ALDC.

Sara Buri, Thailand12:28 AM
The last dinner in my honor took place in thePizza Company. We had a lovely time together...On the bus, I counted all the envelopes that were
handed to me, seven in all! The church gave me alove gift for doing the website, others give to treat
myself, and to help the ALDC. God provides!
11 February 13On the bus to Thailand
12:25 AMFather God, I bring back all the glory and honorto You. Thank You for all the love that You gaveme through Your children. I am so touched with
Your treatment Lord after all the brokenness I
have suffered in the Philippines.
13 February 13Sarahs apartment, Sara Buri, Thailand
1:26 AMThe bus left at 1AM. I was fully awake at 6AM
and I realized that we were in Battambang. It tookus three hours more to get to Poipet where I
would officially exit Cambodia, and then walkedfor some minutes to Aranyaprathet to officially
enter Thailand. It was 3PM when I reachedBangkok. About four hours later, I travelled again
to Sara Buri, two hours away to the south.
17 February 13On the van to Laos
8:42 PMFather God, thank You so much for all that Youhave been doing in my life. I commit my trip to
You Lord. Father, may I find You in Laos.
19 February 13Chaleunehong Hotel, Ventianne, Laos
8:13 AMI dont really feel like seeking You Lord. But Ishould fight for joy. I should fight for the God
who is most glorified in me when I am mostsatisfied in Him.
20 February 13Sarahs apartment, Sara Buri, Thailand8:44 PMI have gone to Ventianne, Laos, for two days andone night. The work situation for Filipinos is notrosy all the time. OFWs have to exit toCambodia or Laos after 15 days or so in Thailandin order not to overstay when they dont have awork permit, and many do not have so... I hadalso a chance to encourage a few Filipino teachersto form a Filipino group and write to thePhilippine government to make sure their rights
as overseas labor migrants in Thailand aresafeguarded. They are teachers and they gothrough such a long journey every so oftenbecause their schools do not give them permit.
23 February 13Sarahs apartment, Sara Buri, Thailand8:44 PMI also ask for your prayers tomorrow. I, Sarah andMJ, will hold a worship service in Sarahsapartment tomorrow and we shall invite the otherFilipinos living in the building. I will speak aboutthe salvation in Jesus Christ. E P I C E N T E R ( A B O O K R E V I E W )....... FROM PAGE 6
This lengthy narrative is a scholarly work that interweaves numerous studies and
interviews and present 10 future headlines based on his understanding of Biblicalprophecy, which follows a pre-trib, pre-mil, dispensational grid. These 10 future
headlines are:
1) Israel discovers massive reserves of oil, gas
2) Treaties and truces leave Israel more secure than ever before
3) A Czar rises in Russia, raising fears of a new cold war
4) Kremlin joins Axis of Evil forms military alliance with Iran
5) Moscow extends military alliance to include Arab, Islamic world
6) Global tensions soar as Russia targets Israel
7) New war erupts in Middle East as earthquakes, pandemic hit Europe, Africa, Asia
8) Iraq emerges from chaos as regions wealthiest country
9) Jews build third temple in Jerusalem
10) Muslims turn to Christ in record numbers
These may sound impossible, but then so did
the collapse of the Berlin Wall, the destruction
of the Twin Towers, the way Saddam died, or
even the birth of the modern nation of Israel,
and many other historical events before they
had happened.
Another interesting thing is that Rosenberg is
highly connected to all sorts of leaders and
politicians in the Middle East and he often
quotes them to show how these predictions
seem to be moving towards a reality. The book
makes me wonder how God will protect Israel from the surrounding countries thatare planning to destroy her. Truly, Epicenter is an interesting book and is worth
everyones time.

The ALDC Preschool charges minimal tuition fees to keep the
program afloat. In the coming school year, our monthly fees are as
follows; 250 pesos for Nursery, 275 pesos for Kinder, 300 pesos for
Prep and 500 pesos to 1,000 pesos for SPED.
Most of our children, however, come from very poor families who
cannot afford the fees. We are grateful, therefore, to have sponsorswho send a child or two to ALDC. We are in need of more, and we
hope you will become one!
Lean Magbanua and Daphne Ogahayon,
from an upland community,
get to study in ALDC through our scholarship.

HELP ALDC LIBRARY
Become a member and pay our annual membership of 100 pesos or give a
monthly pledge. Our library fund enables us to continue our Saturday classes
and hold special awareness campaigns and outreach activities. Also, consider donating helpful books to us. We can keep them in the
library or give them away to deserving schools or
individuals in marginalized areas.
PRAY FOR OUR TEACHERS...that God will increase their joy,
grant them personal and meaningful growth,
and richly provide for their needs, as they work in ALDC.
WE ALSO URGENTLY NEED THESE:
DO YOU HAVE A SPARE?
1) Digital Camera. The one wehave is defective and lately, we
have only been using a mobile
phone to take photos.
2) Three Desktop Computers,at
least,to enable us to start
integrating a computer literacy
program in ALDC.
3.) Printer. We can save a lot of
money if we have our own printer.
We need to print test papers, and
other pertinent documents all the
time.
