Assignment Description The overall objective of the Assignment it to identify promising finance, agriculture and livestock insurance opportunities (including parametric insurance) at different stages of the value chains of 4-5 agricultural commodities in Nigeria.The Assignment should: (a)Identify and analyze the value chains(b)Assess the nature of farmers and production methods(c)Develop cash flow and financial profiles for value chain players(d)Analyze the demand and supply of finance and index insurance, (e)and identify any constraints that may have prevented/hindered the supply of adequate index insurance products
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTSThe World Bank Group now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

NOTESFollowing this invitation for Expression of Interest, a shortlist of qualified firms will be formally invited to submit proposals. Shortlisting and selection will be subject to the availability of funding.
Only those firms which have been shortlisted will receive notification. No debrief will be provided to firms which have not been shortlisted.
Qualification Criteria
1. Experience in agribusiness, agrifinance, agri-insurance, rural and SME finance in developing markets in Africa, Asia and Latin America. *
2. Specific experience of agriculture, banking and insurance in Nigeria, with strong knowledge of, and relationships with, key stakeholders in the agriculture sector including agribusinesses, agri-SMEs, producers and research institutions. *
3. Adequacy of methodology and the proposed work plan in responding to the Terms of Reference. *
4. Qualifications and competence of the key staff related to the assignment. *
