The generatorIntelligent generator With IPG-V (Intelligent Power Genera-tion Vertex), an increase in the pulses’shape factor and shortening of thepulse duration are achieved. In thisway, the EDM performance is en-hanced and, thanks to powerful elec-tronics, the EDM process can be effi-ciently controlled.

Individualised technologiesWith Teccut, ED wire-cutting tech-nologies are generated individuallyaccording to the workpiece features.For this purpose, the workpiece is de-scribed with its height, shape, materi-al, surface quality and accuracy. Teccut then generates the best possi-ble cutting technology from a data-base of pulses, and no longer from atechnology database, and in additionmakes alternative proposals for thequality targets. Teccut selects thepulses for the full cut according tomaterial and quality target. Buildingup on this first technology, the pulsesfor the trim cuts are called in via al-gorithms and then adapted individual-ly to the actual working conditionsand the required precision. A machin-ing to measure, without any compro-

mises with respect to workpieceheight, precision or cutting rate.Whether brass or coated, whetherthick or thin, with every type of wire,both maximum cutting rates areachieved in full cut and surfaces ofthe finest and best precision in trimcut. Balanced profitabilityWith eCut technologies, wires of from0.1 to 0.15 mm diameter can be usedand thus high cutting speeds achieved.eCut technologies reduce the filterand resin consumption strikingly, andcut down the use of both coated andbrass wires. Fewer deposits of mate-rial from the wire on the workpiecereduce the number of trim cuts. Cut surfaces on workpieces have ahomogeneous finish according to theroughness value. eCut technologiesreduce the spark gap in the case offine machining jobs so that absoluteaccuracy is realised in the case ofcontours and smallest inside radii.Even in the case of a fixed feed, thespark gap is regulated in order toreliably achieve the best precision.

The generator and in particular thecontrol of the impulses are fullydigitised. Analog electronics havebeen combined into one single digi-tal component. This contains a mul-titude of individual components andis programmable. Changes can thusbe implemented by means of soft-ware technology, without having tochange the pc boards. Innovationscan be introduced immediately.

Fullspeed through contoursWith Dynamic Corner Control, cor-ners and radii can be cut precisely infull cut at maximum speed. Physical-ly induced contouring errors by thewire in the direction of cut are contin-uously corrected and the wire pathdynamically optimised. Efficient hardwareWith a 40-GB hard disk, a 1.1-GHzPentium Processor and up to 1 GB RAM,a high storage capacity and computerperformance, as well a low energyconsumption are ensured. There are 2 USB connections as well as a unit for CDs and DVDs available for dataexchange. A flexibly installable consolewith a large LCD screen, keyboard andmouse make non-fatiguing data inputpossible.

Newly structured operator surface With Agievision 5, the well-tried 3-win-dow structure has been retained, giv-ing a complete overview at all times. A new operating bar simplifies prepa-ration of the EDM program. All impor-tant activities are represented on itusing large, intuitive icons. The iconsdisplay the active or passive state dy-namically with colours. The main activ-ities can be directly selected, and thecurrent situation can be seen at aglance.

Result-oriented data inputWith Easywork, just the required sur-face quality, contour tolerance, work-piece material and height, as well asthe wire type are input. The controlsystem adapts itself to these settingsand then generates the machiningtechnologies and sequences auto-matically.

No manual fine adjustingWith Agiesetup 3D, the workpiece po-sition in the working area is deter-mined three-dimensionally, automati-cally by measuring cycles by meansof the EDM wire and a touch probe.The control system takes any possibleoffset in the room into account andallots the new reference values to thegeometry program independently.

EDM-specific Job Management SystemWith Agievision, priorities can be setflexibly and changed at any time di-rectly on the machine. With the Lottofunction, several workpieces can becombined and optimally managed inone lot.

Problem-free job insertionWith Pieceinsert, in order to carry outan express job, first of all the actualsituation of the machining job in handis determined, including the cuttingsequences, and then, after comple-tion of the express job, it is then re-sumed exactly where it was inter-rupted. Certified quality Every Agiecut Classic V is measuredby laser and must then ED machinea pallet with practice-related inspec-tion pieces. Long-lasting mechanical components High static and dynamic rigidity is en-sured by the C-frame construction inthe cast version. High-precision,large-dimensioned recirculating ballspindles, as well as prestressed,closed and also large-dimensionedguides on all axes ensure a longworking life and high precision on theworkpiece.
