• Represent the voice of Hertfordshire young people in the county through

– Production of the annual Hertfordshire Young People's Manifesto

– Lead on the Youth Summit with HCC senior managers

– Meetings with the Executive Member for Children's Services

– Meetings with the Police & Crime Commissioner

– Attend local events; launch of ‘Everybody's Business’ & delivery of Youth Democracy sessions in school/s

– Meeting with students from the British Virgin Islands to present and discuss Youth Democracy in action

When voting for their District MYP, young people also vote for their top priority issue.

• Idea conceived in Oct 2011 by the HertsUKYP 2011 group• Open to all aged 11 – 25; voluntary participation• Opportunity for young people to represent themselves• First meeting held in April 2012• Two meetings a year and one Conference held at County

Hall
