One day, a frog was swimming peacefully in

a pot full of cold water where it was placed by a researcher

wishing to demonstrate how to kill it gently and without its knowledge.

The researcher turned on the burner to the lowest setting and the water in the pot

started to warm up slowly.

swim .The water is soon lukewarm.

The temperature continues to rise.

The water is now hot.It’s a bit too much for the frog,

it tires him a bit, but the frog isn’t worried.

The frog’s apathy encourages the researcher

to increase the heat another notch….The water is now really hot.

The frog is now finding this uncomfortable,but since it grew weaker,

it tolerates the situation and does nothing.

The temperature continues to increase until the frog dies and is cooked.

it would have leaped out of the pot immediately.

This experiment demonstrates thatwhile change is taking place very slowly,

it escapes the mind and most of the time doesn’t bring on any reaction, any opposition, any revolt.

 This is exactly what the Canadian Government, represented

byTransport Canada and Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) have

understoodand

this is exactly the strategy they have adopted. 

ADM gradually and secretly brings on changesto the original plans of Montreal-Trudeau and Mirabel

airports,increasing constantly and without any consultation,

the assault to health, safety, quality of lifeand value of real estate

of hundreds of thousands of citizensresiding under the soundscape at Trudeau airport.

While observing what has been happening on the airport file since 1971,

one could state that the citizens of the Montreal areaare slowly suffering in a way they are becoming accustomed to.

will allow you to understand the significance of this ploy. 

If the citizens, the elected municipal and provincial politicians, the business world and the media had known 40 years ago what

they know today,they would have moved the sea and the earth to oppose this.

 To avoid the grumble, Transport Canada and its accomplices at

ADMhave little by little downplayed the effects of their decisionsby announcing them little by little and carefully avoiding any

The citizens aren’t cooked yet like the frog. 

It is urgent that a strong awareness be spread aroundand that an independent impact assessment and a

public consultation take place without delay, which ADM has always refused to do so far.

 This would be the salutary leap

before the number of aircraft movements tripleabove the heads of powerless citizens.
