Guided ActivityTalk as a class and share stories where we have encountered strangers or where we might encounter strangers
Have the students talk in the table groups and write down some ideas for protecting themselves from strangers and what they should do if they encounter a stranger.
As a class they will share what they brainstormed and we will combine everyone’s ideas onto a large paper to hang in the classroom.
Making the Shield
DAY 1: The students will cut out their shield in the shape of their choice. I will demonstrate how to Paper Mache and then the children will do it to their shields. Estimated time: 30 minutes
DAY 2: The students will creatively decorate their shields with the materials in the classroom and whatever they brought in. They will then share and explain their shields with the class. Estimated time: 1-1 ½ hours.
