The Taiwan International Medical Training Center was established by The

Department of Health. Taipei hospital is appointed as the main contact window in

charge of the communications and coordination with all medical institutions in our

country, and the training of medical personnels who come from abroad. In this way, we

are able to elevate the medical and health status of other countries and to fulfill our

responsibilities to the international society.

This center occupied 3 floors of the new building.

Floor 1 is for lei-sure and recreation, floor 2 has

library, floor 3 has 17 rooms are delicated to

accommodate up to 28 foreign trainees. In addition,

the environment is elegant and comfortable with

the modernized equipments. We hope the trainees

feel like being at home.

In view of the need to further integrate the manpower and equipment available

for international health assistance, the Taiwan International Health Operations

Center (TIHOC), a unified task force covering various government departments and

agencies, was established in 2004.

TIHOC was later reorganized as Taiwan

International Health Action (Taiwan IHA) to be more

streamlined yet more extensive and more effective in

coordinating with other international humanitarian aid

institutions on medical and health cooperation and

emergency medical assistance.

Culture Tour

When Taroko National Park was eventually

established on November 28, l986, it was of

special significance for the environmental

protection movement in Taiwan. It showed

that both the public and the government

agencies had realized despite the nation's

four decades of extraordinary economic

success, serious damage was being done to

its natural resources.

According to the National Park Act of the

Republic of China (passed in l972),parks are

established to protect the natural scenery,

historic relics and wildlife; to conserve natural

resources; and to facilitate scientific research

and Promote environmental education.

The city of Yilan is located in the central,

and most favored part, of the Lanyang

Plain. Streams and rivers provide a

constant source of replenishment for the

nutrients in the soil here, making Yilan a

breadbasket county. The cultural,

educational, and administrative heart of the

Lanyang Plain is Yilan City, which is also a

major hub for traffic along the northeast

coast.
