Start your ADS Convention experience

with a Tony Salas training session!

The Bosch piezoelectric common rail fuel injection system and a new

Ford based V8 diesel engine is found in the newest of the Powerstroke

engine family. The 6.7L engine brings a whole new redesigned engine

with new diagnostic approaches provided by the service information.

This Ford based powerplant includes a primary and secondary

cooling system, a crankcase ventilation system, EGR system which

is subcooled by a cooler plus a turbocharger system with dual boost

design. Discussion will include these subsystems plus operation

of the after treatment systems. Discussion will also include thedifferences between the cab chassis and pick up models.

This 4 hour course covers the subsystems of the Powerstroke 6.7L alongwith the use of the Ford Service information and the IDS scan tool.Technicians will view data and common tests that are available. Serviceand issues of the aftertreatment systems will be discussed and viewedalong with the operation of the UREA (DEF) fluid operation on the NOxreduction which occurs in the exhaust. Service and diagnostic informationwill be viewed to understand and follow diagnostic trouble code charts.

Technicians are encouraged to bring a laptop/tablet since serviceinformation and slide show presentations will be shared.

As diesel technology continues to evolve, the technician isrequired to update their skills in diagnosing and repairing vehicles. Use ofthe scan tools, digital storage oscilloscopes and various tools are used alongwith service information.

Tony Salas will present case studies on a Duramax 6.6L, Powerstroke 6.0L,Dodge Cummins 5.9L and a Powerstroke 6.4L. He will cover diagnostic

approaches on these vehicles and instruct the information found on thescan tool such as data, use of bi directional controls, and use of recordingsnapshots. Scan tools demonstrated will be on WiTech, Tech2win,IDS and

Snap On Verus.

Discussion will include programming and reprogramming of modules sucas PCM, TIPM and body control modules. Network operation will be discus

Ford Installer Support, GM SI, Techauthority and Identifix are the serviceinformation used in these case studies.

• Full registration fees include admission to the Tradeshow, all seminarsand food/networking events.

• One-day registration fees include admittance to the Tradeshow andseminars on the day of attendance.

• Special Service Member Option is available to qualifying servicemembers. To qualify, service members must have two attendeesregistered for the Convention at the full registration rate. Companiesare limited to three one-day registrations at the special rate, per day,per additional attendee. Admittance includes: seminars, the Tradeshowand lunch on the day of attendance (if applicable).

• Companion/Child fees include the Get-Acquainted Reception,Companion continental breakfast, opening general session, allbusiness-management seminars, Companion orientation session, one

trolley ticket, the Closing Event, and admittance to the Tradeshow.

• Anyone (including Companions) planning to participate as boothpersonnel must register as a full attendee.

• Children are welcome to attend social functions, but must beregistered. Children 18 or younger must be accompanied byan adult at all functions and at all times in the Tradeshowand/or Convention area.

• Single-event ticket options may be purchased for Companions onsiteonly. All prices are listed per person, per event: Get-Acquainted Reception($100), Wednesday Lunch ($65), and the Closing Event ($125).

ALL non-exhibiting (member or non-member) manufacturing compan(OEM, replacement parts, allied equipment or supplier of other parts)will pay, in addition to ordinary registration fees, a company registratfee of $975. Each person attending the Convention will also pay theappropriate registration fee.

Refunds for cancellations will be granted, provided ADS is notified inwriting by Wednesday, June 26, 2013. All refunds will be processedafter the Convention is completed and a $75 administrative fee will bretained on all cancellations. Cancellation notices received after Junewill not be approved for a refund. Name changes and substitutiomay be made at any time by notifying ADS Headquarters in writing [email protected].

Non-members of ADS are welcome to attend. Attendees interested inmembership will be eligible for member rates as long as their applicais approved no later than June 26. (Please note that it typically takes 15 business days to process and approve applications. If an applicatiis not approved by June 26, the company may be required to pay nmember fees for attendee registrations and exhibit space. Policy with Respect to Convention ExhibitsAs set forth in its published Repair Standards, ADS is dedicated tohighest-quality, manufacturer-accredited service with parts whichequal or exceed original equipment manufacturers’ standards, but thisdedication is not a factor in the structure and operation of, the ADSInternational Convention & Tradeshow.

ADS disclaims responsibility for, or endorsement of products andservices displayed at the annual Tradeshow. Participation by exhibitoris governed by consideration of free and open competition, and the lerequirements that no restraints be imposed thereon by ADS.

The ADS Board of Directors has adopted the following: Manufacturersand others who occupy suites during the ADS International Conventio& Tradeshow will limit social and promotional gatherings to times whthere are no Association activities taking place. While strictly private

conferences between a suite occupant and an individual firm may occat any time and are not subject to this restriction, functions for whichinvitations are issued to a large group of individuals or which are opeall Convention attendees will be deemed to be in violation of this poFurther, suite occupants who are not exhibitors shall not display prodin their suites for viewing by Convention attendees; as such displaywould circumvent and undermine the purpose and effectiveness of thADS-sponsored Tradeshow. All manufacturers and suppliers are urgedto abide by the policy as stated.
