Since DURADEK®/DURAGRID® pultruded grating only supports unidirectional loading, EXTREN® wide flange beams (with holes drilled to accomodate pedestal head) are recommended as support spanning the direction perpendicular to the grating bearing bars. Lateral stability of pedestal support system and grating attachment must be addressed. Refer to the Strongwell Design Manual for grating and beam design.
