BACKGROUND:Project started in 2009 to address the unemployment and alleviate the standard of living with the rural community of Mohlasedi.Started with beneficiaries, consisting of 5 females and 2 males.

TYPE OF INTERVENTION:Requesting land from the local Headman.Construction of 3 broiler houses, 2X egg-laying structures, providing opening stock as well as onsite training

PROJECT NAME: Mokuruanyane Vegetable Growers CooperativeBUDGET: R1,9mNO OF BENEFICIARIES: 10BACKGROUNDThe Lephalale Agricultural corridor, which is a concept that initiated by the District Municipality and herein referred as LAC, is a comprehensive Agri-business initiative in which Exxaro decided to partake. The aim is to plays a critical role in meeting poverty alleviation objectives of ASGISA and Millennium Development Goals. The project primarily links the 1st economy in Lephalale town with the 2nd economy at rural villages of Palala. The first phase of the project was implemented in Abbortspoort (Mokuranyane) Area.TYPE OF INTERVENTION

PROJECT NAME: Boithlamo Construction Development CC

BUDGET: R1,3m

BACKGROUND:• The project was started in

2009 with a group of 7Civil skills Students from Mogol Academy to address the demand of civil skills mandated by the growth of town with construction of new Power Station and Expansion of the Mine.

TYPE OF INTERVENTION• Exxaro purchased brick-

making machines, 3 ton Truck, production material and office equipment.

PROJECT NAME: Limpro Concrete Works

BUDGET: 2m

BACKGROUND:Based on the gap in the local market for manufactures and supply of concrete products. An opportunity was afforded to the unemployed youth of Marapong township, starting with those who had enrolled for Civils skills training at Mogolo Academy, to start a cooperative that specialises in manufacturing all concrete related products. Five beneficiaries were selected for this project.
