Different types of TVs advertising

Talking heads
• This type of advert consists of people talking into a camera and it consists of a close up of the person that is talking to the camera. It makes the audience feel like they are being addressed to more personally.
Documentary
• Informative style of advertising usually demonstrating the product and its benefits.
Animation
• Using cartoon style / illustrations of characters to promote the product message.
Realist
• Focuses on the everyday thoughts and concerns of society this type of advert shows the portrayal of realistic events. Real life problems are addressed with the product solving the problem.
Anti Realist
• Focusses on something that will never happen to the audience. It will have the freedom to indulge in all kinds of CGI nonsense.
Abstract
• Not trying to represent reality but experimental, artistic and creative.
Series
• When similar TV adverts are released each month or so from a certain product with a continuing story line. This can create a strong brand identity.
Other styles
• Humorous- funny, light hearted, amusing
• Surreal- bizarre, strange
• Dramatic- shocking, builds tension, suspense
• Parody- amusing, exaggerated imitation of the style
