I am so happy to be back home! Truly, God has given me a fruitful trip for three months away from my church, but I can say that still there

is no place like home. All your prayers, with your evident care and concern for your pastor, are greatly appreciated. God has been so good in all our travels and preaching engagements. He gave me various opportunities to show what He is doing in our coun-try and in our church. I am so privileged to pastor a church with members that show their love for God. I thank the Lord for you!

Church, let us take advantage of our God-given freedom to serve Him while He is sending revival in our country. As God allows the open door for the gospel, may we be aware and appreciative of such by faithfully sharing the Gospel. Though there are still soulwinning churches in America, it is saddening to note that many Americans are proud and busy to accept the Gospel. I am glad that in our country, many schools, campuses, and even work places are allotting time for God’s Word. That is our accoun-tability toward God. Let us then do our part and be courageous enough to win the lost to Christ.

Finally, let me encourage you to stay faithful in church. We will never grow spiritually apart from it. Likewise, may we have a humble heart as we listen to God’s Word and develop a closer relationship with God.

Victorious Christian Living (Finances—Spending)Proverbs 3:5-10 / Haggai 1:5-11

I. Believers must always acknowledge God in their fi nancial spending. A. Money is a spiritual matter, not only a fi nancial substance; so we need wisdom from God in spending it.B. Money is a spiritual meter that gauges our spirituality as born again believers in Christ.C. Money is a spiritual marker that points our direction in our Christian life.

II. Believers must aggressively avoid pitfalls in their fi nancial spending.A. Believers must stay away from unreasonable debt.B. Believers must shun away from unwanted and wasteful spending.C. Believers must steer away from ungodly self-indulgent spending. III. Believers must actively assist God’s work with their fi nancial spending.A. God’s work should be included in the fi nancial spending of His people. B. God’s work when included in the fi nancial spending of His people will bring them Lord’s admiration.C. God’s work when excluded from the fi nancial spending of His people will bring them Lord’s annoyance (curse/displeasure).

God divided the hands into fingers so that money could slip through. God entrusts us with money as a test; for like a toy to the child, it is training for handling things of more value. The fault does not lie in the money, but in them that use it.

JESUS talked a great deal about money.

16 of the 38 parables were concerned with how to handle money and possessions. In the Gospels, an amazing 1 out of 10 verses (288 in all) deal directly with the subject of money. The Bible offers 500 verses on prayer, less than 500 verses on faith, but more than 2,000 verses on money and possessions.

EVERY FAMILY has to make tough decisions with their fi nances. If we let the world defi ne success for us, we can be tempted to spend

on luxury items at the expense of what really mat-ters the most. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” Applying these biblical principles of fi nances will help you invest where you will fi nd the greatest returns—the work of God and your family.

How has the economy effected your budget? Do you trust God more or less with your fi nances? With the constant pressure of economic woes, consumer advertising, and a fl uctuating housing market, how can Christians maintain a biblical balance of priorities in their family budget?

Here are six principles of a biblical fi nancial model:

1. Realize God owns it all—tithe and support the work of the ministry.2. Work hard and smart—get additional training, and be a continuous learner.3. Prepare a family budget.4. Pay your obligations on time.5. Live within your means—follow your budget.6. Practice grace giving—test God with your giving.

The journey toward faithful stewardship will not be easy or quick, but the end result will be a family that is able to support the work of the ministry, provide a Christ-centered education for their children, and enjoy freedom from debt. Remember, your family’s spiritual growth is not costly—it is priceless! The Bible says in Matthew 25:21, “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

PART 2

Biblical Principles on STEWARDING Your Family's Resources

The story is told of a farmer who was known for his generous giving and whose friends could not understand how he could give so much and yet remain so prosperous. One day a spokesman for his friends said. "We can’t understand you. You give far more than any of the rest of us and yet you always seem to have more to give." "Oh that is easy to explain," the farmer said. "I keep shoveling into God's bin and God keeps shoveling back into mine and God has the bigger shovel."
