Please keep in mind these activities are weather-dependent and subject to change.Learn more about traffic and construction impacts on our website.

Construction activities will be happening day and night. Activities that occur overnightwill be within the noise variance limits of 75-decibel hourly average (noise level of avacuum) with an allowable spike up to 86 decibels (noise level of heavy traffic). To makea complaint about construction noise during the night, call the 24-hour hotline at 833-C70-INFO (833-270-4636). DDPHE regulates the noise variance and residents may also callthe city at 3-1-1. There is additional information about the variance here.

Stay in the know! Westbound 46th

Avenue between Steele and Claytonstreets closed in late January so thatcrews could reinstall a waterline nearFillmore Street. This work is necessaryto continue the construction of theFillmore Street bridge that willeventually carry motorists over I-70 inthe future. In order for theseoperations to occur, the Central 70team must work very closely withDenver Water to minimize impacts totheir services during these operations.

Motorists can expect a brief opening of

westbound 46th Avenue in mid-March.The road will stay open for approximately one week while crews work off of theroadway. After this portion of the closure is complete, the Project will close westbound46th Avenue once again for a shorter period of time to finalize the installation ofthe waterline. This closure will stay in place until April.

This work also requires the closure of Fillmore Street at 46th Avenue. This closure willbe in place until April with no openings. To access Fillmore Street south of 46th Avenue,residents should utilize 45th Avenue.

The Central 70 Project would like to thank motorists for their patience during theselong-term closures. These closures allow the Project to make work zones safe -- such asthis one pictured at the south side of I-70 at Fillmore Street -- for our crewsand traveling public!

Meet the Team: CintiaEspinoCintia Espino is part of the Kiewit teamworking on the Central 70 Project. Shehas been working on the Project for twomonths and is already recognized bymany for her dedication! Cintia’shusband also works on Central 70,therefore, her workday begins at homeas she prepares everyone for school andwork.

While at the office, Cintia overseespackage delivery, cleans and ensuresthe offices are well-maintained.Cintia’s hobbies include spending quality time with her kids, reading, cooking andwatching movies. Cintia also loves eating healthy food! Her ideal plate is salmon “almojo de ajo”, veggies, and rice or black beans. If Cintia had the option to live a week in

The Central 70 Project will reconstruct a 10-mile stretch of I-70 between BrightonBoulevard and Chambers Road, add one new Express Lane in each direction, remove theaging, 55-year-old viaduct, lower the interstate between Brighton and Coloradoboulevards and place a 4-acre park over a portion of the lowered interstate.
