Act Three

Sandy: bikini bottom need your help!

Squirrel Sandy, the take-away deliveryman of bikini bottom, delivered oxygen to the residents every

day. The “don’t eat me” signal light “CD47” was her passport to travel around bikini bottom.

One day, Sandy occasionally discovered that the Krusty Krab had a fake “CD47” signal light on the

roof. After observation, she found it’s Squidward that made the fake “CD47” to deceive the police.

She realized the Krusty Krab was in unregulated extension, harming the bikini bottom.

Sandy came to tell sponge bob about this, but sponge bob firmly believed that Mr. Krabs was

wronged and Sandy had a misunderstanding to him. Other residents were captivated by Krabby

patties and police were masked. Sandy had no way but went on the moon to seek for aliens’ help.

Our iGem team member MingRun noted Sandy’s recourse. We came up a way together to help

bikini bottom to defeat Mr. Krabs, and enveloped our draft into a drift bottle, threw it to the bikini

bottom.

Act Three Tips:

CD47 was a transmembrane protein of red blood cell (Sandy) initially. It prevented red blood cells

from eating by macrophages (police). Cancer cell might have a mutation to express CD47.

When a patient caught cancer, his blood biochemical values and other criterion would reveal it

(Sandy ask for help). Now it’s time for our iGem team to treat cancer. We constructed three

plasmids (draft), enveloped plasmids with adenovirus (drift bottle), and injected the adenovirus

into the patient blood vessel.
