1 Acoustics

When there is background noise and people can't hear very well in a room, their ability to concentrate and communicate is adversely affected. The nature of the material used, such as wood, and the design contribute to the wellbeing of the people in the respective rooms. To combine these two aspects is the designer's most difficult task. A room that is not visually appealing or in which the audience cannot easily understand the speaker does not make a positive impression on customers, visitors or conference delegates. Each and every Bruag acoustic element provides an impressive solution to satisfying exacting visual as well as technical acoustic requirements. The flexibility of the individually produced elements can meet all possible design briefs, and offers the opportunity to create unique and individual interior design solutions that represent the character of the client and/or event organisers. The following variations are possible:

Type and degree of perforation

Panel colour

Panel thickness

Panel material

Construction depth (standard 100 mm)

Format (standard 1020 x 2040 mm)

Special formats and construction depths on request

Do not hesitate to contact us! We will produce your individual solution because at BRUAG the only standard is that there is no standard.

System

The Bruag system stands for reliability and design flexibility. To make that possible we have tested many different design combinations regarding type and degree of perforation, panel thickness and construction depth. We are happy to make the test certificates available to you. For technical reasons relating to installation of the panels, we recommend the 1020 x 2040 mm format.

Wall or ceiling. The installation should be flexible and concealed, and quick and easy to carry out. Elements are manufactured to customer requirements and delivered ready for installation. The support system is easy to fix and allows rapid installation.

Should it not be possible to install the finished Bruag acoustic elements due to the room scenario, it is also possible to supply individual components such as the perforated facing panels.

It goes without saying that the individual components can also be used for improving the room acoustics of other elements, such as free-standing partition wall systems.

2 Components of the Bruag acoustic system

Based on our practical experience, we recommend the use of the 1020 x 2040 mm format for optimum cost benefit. We have tested the carrier board (with Formboard Top Pine) with three perforation types: 10200 (8% proportion of holes), 50402 (20% proportion of holes) and 50100 (40% proportion of holes). The tests showed that panels with a construction depth of 100 mm and 30 mm Flumroc 3 insulation board 3 absorber are very effective. But of course you can also build up your own element using the individual components.

2.1 Carrier boards

With respect to carrier boards used in internal applications you can choose between Formboard Top Pine, which has been designed for resilience, and MDF, which appeals with its closed board edge. The adhesive in both variants is free from formaldehyde so that the formaldehyde content of the board is equivalent to that of natural wood. We are also happy to produce, on request, other types of carrier board, such as plywood, B1 carrier board or board in non-standard thicknesses. We can produce board thicknesses from 4 mm to 30 mm.

Formboard Top Pine: 10 and 18 mm untrimmed board size 2070 x 6200 mm

MDF (also B1 low flammability): 19 mm untrimmed board size 2070 x 6200 mm

Other thicknesses and types of wood-based board are available on request.

2.2 Perforation Bruag offers a choice of over 70 different types of perforation. And of course, we are also happy to produce special perforation patterns, for example graphics or company logos. To produce such special perforation patterns we need a DXF cutting pattern; if you are not in a position to produce this, we are happy to do it for you. However, in that case we need a JPEG file so that we can produce the cutting pattern file.

2.3 Colour coating

The carrier boards are finished with scratch resistant water-based paint. You can choose from the RAL and NCS S Edition 2 range of colours (approx. 2,500 colour shades) or from the 14 colours of our ASS aluminium colour range. The visible sides of the metal housing parts are finished in white paint.

In addition it is possible to apply a B1 or anti-graffiti coating.

2.4 Textile finish We are also offering textile finishes in a wide range of colours which are used to cover the internal absorber and to enhance the perforation contrast. The following standard colours are available: On request the following special colours can be supplied:

2.5 Absorber Depending on the technical briefing, you have a choice of a wide range of absorbers.

High absorption properties: Flumroc insulation board 3 /rockwool

Sustainability / room climate: UdiCLIMATE /softboard (on request)

Partitions (sound insulation): Wolf Professional 15 mm /cardboard with sand filling

2.6 Fixing Bruag acoustic elements are fitted quickly and easily using a clip system with a rectangular metal box element. Depending on the substrate, the four box angles are fixed with either screws or a dowel system.

The visible surfaces of the metal box are coated with a white finish.
