Program DetailsOur Summer English Language Camp is designed for children & teens who want to live in Toronto, improve their English, make friends from around the world, and visit exciting tourist destinations. Students will experience unforgettable memories to last a lifetime!

Students will attend daily morning English classes, as well as exciting daily after-noon trips and activities. Led by our teachers, the trips are a fun way to see the city with your classmates, meet students from other countries around the world, and practice your English at the same ! Our package also includes a day trip every Saturday to destinations such as: Niagara Falls, Canada’s Wonderland, Wasaga Beach, Ripley’s Aquarium, and / or a Water Park. (see Activity Schedule)

StudentsOur students come from a number of different countries around the world includ-ing: Russia, Korea, Spain, Japan, Venezuela, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and more. All students are expected to speak in English at all times.

AccommodationMost students live in Homestay accommodation with Canadian families. Home-stay hosts provide three meals per day which include a packed lunch to take to school. All host families have been carefully screened by our Homestay Coordina-tor to ensure our students’ comfort and safety. Students under the age of 13 will be placed in a homestay with an older student who will accompany them to school, or will be driven to school daily by their host family (additional fees apply).

Residence accommodation is available (for groups only) at NEW COLLEGE, University of Toronto, located directly across the street from the school, or at one of many other private residences located close to the school. LocationACCESS Summer camp classes are held in downtown Toronto at St. Vladimir Institute (a 10-minute walk from our main location). The school is located at 620 Spadina Avenue surrounded by the University of Toronto buildings. Our facility has air-conditioned classrooms, a student area with a ping-pong table, vending ma-chines for juice and pop, and refrigerators to keep lunches cold. The school is a five-minute walk from Spadina subway station.

TransportationAll students must be mature enough to use public transportation on their own.Students are responsible for the transportation costs of travelling to and from school and the cost of travelling on the transit system to various activities. The average monthly cost of TTC transportation is approximately $135.00 CDN. Our bus and subway system are clean, safe and very easy to use. The traveling time averages about 30-45 minutes from the home to the school. Host families will show students how to get to school the first day.

Dates The 2015 program runs fora total of 10 weeks, starting June 15 and ending on Au-gust 22. Students can choose to stay for periods of one to ten weeks. For specific dates, please consult the 2015 Summer Camp Application Form.

Teachers & Activity StaffAll teachers are TESL certified and have experience teaching students from many cultural backgrounds. On all school activities teachers accompany students to the various activities.

English ClassesOur classes combine the areas of study (grammar, writing, reading, speaking and listening) with interesting activities to expose our students to Canadian culture. On the first day of class, students will be given both a written and a verbal English language test. Students will then be placed in an appropriate class level with a mix of students from other countries. Students are expected to participate in all classes. Any absenc-es will be noted on the student’s report card at the end of the session. We expect all students to respect fellow students and their teachers at all times.

Trips and activities are an integral part of the ACCESS Summer English Language Camp program. We believe that students learn through doing, and participating in after school activities is a great way to practice newly learned English language skills! On Saturdays, students will visit exciting tourist destinations such as: Canada’s Wonderland, Niagara Falls, Ripley’s Aquarium, a water park, or Wasaga Beach. Weekday afternoons the stu-dents will participate in a fun-filled activity around the city of Toronto. Teachers join the students to supervise and encourage interaction in English. Students are expected to speak English only on all activities.

NOTE: • This is a sample schedule only. While we try

to hard to maintain this schedule, ACCESS has the right to change trips due to weather, scheduling, or other issues.

• Packages include one less Saturday trip than number of weeks in package. ie: 4 week package includes 3 Saturday trips, 2 week package includes 1 Saturday trip.

• Parent & Child Program - parents may choose to participate in trips & activities (additional charge $125 /week for weekday afternoons, and $75 / Saturday trip)

In the Parent & Child Summer Program, partici-pants have the opportunity to experience a full and rich cultural learning experience with their children.

Parents will study Full-Time English (20 lessons/week) in our adult English language program, while their children take part in English language classes with other children and teens in the Summer English language camp program. In the afternoons, and on the weekends, parents may join their children on the trips & activities (extra charges apply).

Families have the option of living together in the same homestay, or, for those who prefer a fur-nished apartment, ACCESS can arrange one for rental. Come learn English together and find out what summer fun Toronto has waiting for you!

Parent&ChildProgram

LocationParents’ classes are held at our school’s main location - 730 Yonge Street in downtown Toronto. It is a 1-minute walk from Yonge/Bloor subway station and is surrounded by restaurants, movie theatres, and office buildings.

Children & Teens classes will be held at our Summer Camp location (a 15 minute walk from our main location) at 620 Spadina Ave. The school is surrounded by the University of Toronto build-ings. Our facility has air-conditioned classrooms, a student area with a ping-pong table, vending ma-chines for juice and pop, and refrigerators to keep lunches cold. The school is a five-minute walk from Spadina subway station.

EscortParents & children will meet ACCESS staff at Spadina subway station every morning. Our staff will personally escort the children to our Summer camp location. After lunch, parents will come to our Summer Camp to meet their children and join the day’s trip (if participating). Parents not participating in trips must pick their children up at our Summer camp daily at 4pm.
