American Marketing Association The American Marketing Association at Sacramento State is committed to fostering scientific study and research in the field of marketing. As well as developing sound thinking in marketing theory and more exact knowledge and definition of marketing principles. Improving the methods and techniques of marketing research. Developing better public understanding and appreciation of marketing problems. Studying and discussing legislation and judicial decisions regarding marketing. Improving marketing personnel and recording progress in marketing through the publication of outstanding papers. American Society of Mechanical Engineers The purpose of ASME is to promote professional, personal, and academic development of student engineers by providing contact with the industry professionals. Networking and industry interaction will be via facility tours, technology updates, guest speaker events, and participation in industry related events. American Society of Safety Professionals To provide a solid education to Occupational Safety and Health or any related majors on different job aspects of safety in the private industry. This will be accomplished by bringing different speakers in to speak to our club. Baja SAE The purpose of the Baja SAE team is allow students the opportunity to design, build, and race an off road race car against other universities from across the country. Calaveras Station Literary Journal

Calaveras Station Literary Journal exists to provide a space in which the best student writing of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, memoir, and other literary forms can be exhibited in a printed form for the enjoyment of students (former, current, or future) and to act as an archive for the wide array of literary voices at Sacramento State. California Nursing Students' Association To assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality health care. To provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interests and concerns. Ceramics Guild The purpose of the Ceramics Guild is to increase interest in the ceramic department, raise money for new equipment, host guest artists for demonstrations, and gain new experiences. College Affiliation: A&L Contact: [email protected]

Chemistry Club The Chemistry Club focuses on doing community outreach in order to educate people (usually kids) about Chemistry and how much fun it could be. Chicanos/Latinos in Health Education C.H.E.S main focus is to provide its members with valuable outreach opportunities, academic/peer support and exposure to information and professionals from various health careers. C.H.E.S goal is to encourage minority students to pursue a graduate level education in the health careers and give back to the community. C.H.E. achieves these goals by organizing community service events, holding formal and informal study sessions, and organizing outreach projects such as health fairs and pre-health conferences. Clio Journal Clio is the History department's student-produced journal, intended to display the quality work being done at Sacramento State and allowing students the opportunity to gain practical skills in editing, publishing, and everything associated with running a journal. Communication Graduate Student Association To promote the professional and scholarly interests of its membership. To foster a sense of community among the graduate students within the program. To encourage the exchange of ideas, thoughts, and research between and among graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Community Health Outreach Club We are an on/off campus club, serving communities around Sacramento and Placer county. Our mission is to provide resources, information, and services based on our scope of practice of health care to people in our community. We want to improve the quality of life of the most

vulnerable and at-risk individuals in our community by bridging the disparities in access to healthcare. We embrace six core values - compassion, respect, integrity, empathy, teamwork and accountability - as a way of interacting with each other and the people we reach. We will work in collaboration with public agencies and nonprofit providers, and will uphold these values, as we are the future face of medicine. CHOC is a critical link between people in need -the under-served, uninsured, the working poor, students, and others - offering services and resources as we are capable. Competitive Robotics Competitive Robotics exists to foster hands on experience in engineering, encourage high school and junior high students to take an interest in science and engineering, and to provide an opportunity for good natured competition between Sac State students of all studies. Computer Technology Club To expound upon the appreciation of computer technology. Computer Technology Club pushes to provide a hands on experience with computer related topics and technology. CTC also provides Student Gadget Quick stop where club members work together to diagnose and solve issues other students have in regards to their computers.

Concrete Canoe Club The Concrete Canoe Club's, (CCC), main goal is to compete at the ASCE Mid-Pacific regional conference. This competition gives students the opportunity to work with ground-breaking reinforced concrete design and sustainable concrete mixtures to build and test a canoe in the most competitive region in the United States. The concrete canoe competition challenges students to be creative, innovative and become more hands-on with the material that is taught in the classroom and beyond. In order to become more competitive our team has started the semester early with a plan to build on what we have learned for last year. Construction Management Student Association The purpose of this organization is to foster the professional development of students for the construction industry through networking opportunities, site visits, presentations and community participation. Dance Alliance Dance Alliance is an organization committed to enriching the dance community at Sacramento State. We accomplish this by providing an inclusive space for all movers, creating connections through dance and sharing styles not commonly found within the University curriculum. Through our organization there are outlets for self-expression, teaching and performance opportunities, both on campus and in the community at large. Data Science A good data scientist is better at statistics than a computer scientist, and better at computer science than a statistician. Data science is one of the fastest growing fields in the technology and business industry, however schools are severely lacking in proper education regarding data science. Unfortunately we haven't encouraged the overlap of these two fields at Sac State. We see this club as an opportunity to push Sac State students into an interest in data science, as well as making us a school where we can produce graduates who are competent for the field.

Our mission is to bring together Sac State students who are interested in data science to learn more about different technologies and tools, and make some really cool projects. Design Build Institute of America DBIA promotes the value of design-build, and integrated project delivery. Our goal is to provide DBIA accreditation courses and network with professionals to learn the effective integration of design and construction services to ensure success for owners, designers and construction practitioners. Dramatist Society The purpose of this organization is to represent the Theatre & Dance majors and minors of Sacramento State University and serve as an outlet for the creative energy of students interested in these fields. Earthquake Engineering Research Institute The Earthquake Engineering Research Institute is a national, nonprofit, technical society of engineers, geoscientists, architects, planners, public officials, and social scientists. EERI members include researchers, practicing professionals, educators, government officials, and building code regulators. The objective of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute is to reduce earthquake risk by advancing the science and practice of earthquake engineering, improving understanding of the impact of earthquakes on the physical, social, economic, political, and cultural environment, and advocating comprehensive and realistic measures for reducing the harmful effects of earthquakes. Energy Efficient Vehicle The purpose of this club is to expose and offer hands on experience to students by designing/manufacturing an energy-efficient vehicle to compete in the Shell Eco Marathon, with the aerodynamic, structural, engine, and control aspects of the design, optimized for maximum fuel efficiency. Engineering & Computer Science Joint Council A student council of representatives from the various clubs within the college of Engineering and Computer Science whose purpose is to coordinate club activities and to serve as a communication conduit between the student body and the Office of the Dean. Environmental Student Organization Our

mission, as people of the earth, is to educate the public about environmental concerns and promote sustainability both on campus and in our lives. We provide students with environmentally-oriented events and outings as well as a number volunteer and community service activities on campus and in the community. Field Biology Group The Field Biology Group at California State University, Sacramento is a dynamic student organization for students interested in ecology, wildlife biology, botany, and other field-related disciplines. Food and Nutrition Club The Food and Nutrition Club is a student-run organization at Sacramento State University. Our mission is to unite Sacramento State students pursuing careers and lifestyles centered on health, wellness, and food. Future Pharmacist Student Organization The purposes of this organization shall be: to facilitate students' understanding of the pharmacy profession, to provide information and bring in guest speakers that may aid students in the process of admission into various schools of pharmacy, to provide students with leadership and volunteer opportunities, to recruit prospective pharmacy students and other representative groups/individuals and introduce them to a career in pharmacy, and to provide students the opportunity to visit and tour different pharmacy school campuses. Gamma Iota Sigma We are the International Collegiate Professional Fraternity for students pursuing careers in Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science. We are also leaders in the development and advancement of professional ideals. The purpose of Gamma Iota Sigma is to encourage, establish, and enhance the professionalism of students in the Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial Science majors. Our goal is to prepare our members for quality employment opportunities in the risk management, insurance, and actuarial fields. As a fraternal organization, we strive to build

a sense of community and cohesion among members while improving their career opportunities through increased knowledge of the industry. In addition, we aim to prepare our members to interact comfortably with industry leaders, and form contacts that will serve them throughout their career. Geo-Challenge The purpose of this organization is to provide real hands-on experience for those interested in geo-technical engineering and competing with other universities in the state of California in building a mechanically stabilized earth wall. Gerontology Club The purpose is to gives members the opportunity to shape aging communities, become involved on campus, network, and locate internship possibilities. The purpose of our Make A Difference Program is to encourage people to volunteer at local elder communities in need as well as allow students to locate possible job and internship opportunities. Global Medical Brigades The purpose of this organization is to provide sustainable development to underserved communities throughout the world. Along with affiliate groups at other distinguished universities, our California State University Sacramento team recruits student volunteers and professionals, gathers supplies, and then travels overseas to set up free medical and dental clinics in a variety of Honduran, Panamanian, Nicaraguan, and Ghanaian communities. Our organization will hold one per year, taking place during academic breaks, and provide ongoing year-long educational and professional development opportunities that relate to international health and development to members. Graduate Student Advisory Council GSAC is a platform for communication that graduate students at Sacramento State can use to voice their concerns, issues, and graduate experiences as it relates to their graduate studies. Graphic Resource Information Design Society Grids provides students the opportunity to meet and network with other design students and industry professionals through organization sponsored events such as field trips, portfolio reviews, and AIGA membership events. Student Investment Fund The Student Investment Fund is committed to raising student awareness in financial investing by providing an opportunity to invest donated money into the stock market. Those students involved will receive an education beyond what is taught in the classroom. The purposes of the fund is to: provide direct experience in the investment process; provide research, presentation, teamwork, leadership and committee experience; educate the students on investment procedures and research tactics; provide networking opportunities; and expose students to the industry technology. Studio Recording Club The Sac State Studio Recording Club is open to all students interested in audio and video recording. Our purpose is to bring students together interested in recording and producing music videos and recordings.
