The Effect of Online Newspaper Sentiments on IPO
Underpricing in Indonesia
Monica Fiona Aryani1, Arief Wibisono Lubis2
1,2University of Indonesia
Abstract
Background - Online newspapers are one of the sources that provide
information, especially to retail investors, about a company's Initial Public Offering
(IPO). Thus, the phenomenon of underpricing oftenly observed during an IPO might
be attributed to the sentiments that are contained in online newspaper.
Purpose - The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of online newspaper
sentiments on IPO underpricing. Mass media is one of the important sources of
information for retail investors, because sometimes it has its own access to 'insider
information'. In addition, retail investors are unable to monitor all information
related to the companies, so the information can be obtained from journalists.
Design/methodology/approach - This research covers IPOs that occurred in
Indonesia in 2018 (36 companies and nearly 1.300 articles), using the textual analysis
based on the lexicon developed by Loughran and McDonald (2011) in constructing
sentiments measures of news that can be found in search results on Google.com
(Googlenews) related to the company, 3 months prior to the IPO. The sentiments are
divided into several categories: negative, positive, uncertainty, ligitous, strong modal,
weak modal, and constraining.
Findings - We find that negative and strong modal sentiments are negatively
associated with first-day returns. Meanwhile, the only control variable that gives
significant effect is the number of articles.
Research limitations - This research only includes articles directly related to the
companies from online sources. Articles concerning other topics such as
macroeconomic developments were not included, although might be significant.
Originality/value - There have been by far a very limited number of articles that
discuss the role of news sentiments on IPO underpricing, especially in the context of
Indonesia. This paper attempts to address this research gap.

The Nursing Center UNPAD as a Model for Nursing
Entrepreneursip Program on Campus
Neti Juniarti1, Mamat Lukman2, Desy Indra Yani3
1,2,3Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Padjadjaran
Abstract
Background - One model that can increase nurses' contributions in strengthening
primary health care is the Nursing Center (NC) model. NC is a model that integrates
health services, nursing education, and research in the community setting through the
empowerment of all existing potentials
Purpose - The aim of this study was to explore the feasibility of the Nursing Center
as a model for nursing entrepreneurship program on campus to increase the capacity
of nurses and student entrepreneurship in achieving the independence of the
community to prevent illness and improve their health.
Design/methodology/approach - This study used a case study design to
investigate the activities and processes of, and the inter-relationships between, the
stakeholders in the NC model within its real-life context. The NC Unpad, is viewed as
a single case in this research because it is an unusual and unique CHN educational
model and entrepreneurship on campus.
Findings - The NC is feasible to be implemented because of the enthusiasm of the
health department and educational institutions in West Java and other provinces to
implement the NC model is quite high. Activities in the NC included the provision of
management training services and entrepreneurship development strategies for
Nursing Centers; provision of promotive, preventive and rehabilitative nursing care
services; and acceptance of students for internships at the Nursing Center both from
within and outside the region. In addition, services that can be provided are training
and the use of NursBox. NursBox is an android smartphone application that can be
used by nurses and students to document individual nursing care in the Nursing
Center.
Research limitations - The main limitation of the study is that it is a single case
study conducted in a city in the region of West Java, which may have a different
context from other regions in Indonesia, or from the wider global community.
Originality/value - This NC Unpad is quite different from other NC model in the
world particularly for shaping the entrepreneurship skills for nursing students
because Faculty of Nursing Unpad is the initial initiator and developer of this model.

Abstract
Background - A best-fitted competency model implementation contributes
substantially to the competitive advantage for the vision and values inside the
organization. By designing the owned-requested aptitude (gap analysis), evaluating
the proficiency level (competency measurement), and creating the role of each
organization member (matrix process) will adequately build up a decent competency
model for the institution. The experiemental approach on designing and evaluating
the competency model has been done by human resource management experts but has
not yet to be mapped to summarize the finding and find the insight of the scope that
needs further observation.
Purpose - The objective of the research is to draw an SMS map based on the
research scope of the previous study related to the competency model in a
organization in regards to the entrepreneurial field of interest.
Design/methodology/approach - A Systematic Mapping Study is needed to

The Implication of Merger and Acquisition on
Profitability: The Case of Listed Companies in Indonesia
Stock Exchange (IDX) 2010 - 2018
Rizkha Kusnadi1, Ruslan Prijadi2
1,2University of Indonesian
Abstract
Background - The government of Indonesia hascommitted to developing
infrastructure as the strategic stimulus for future economic performance, expecting
manufacture would grow faster and create higher value-added outputs for the
economy. It is construction sector as the ‘front-liner’of infrastructure development
that is expected to perform its best to realize the targeted outcome (economic growth).
Therefore this ‘demand’ requires the construction sector to keep performing its best
at all cost. In larger scale of operation supported by high external opportunities (i.e.
government policy), expansion would be preferable. The expansion itself is divided
into two types, which are internal and external expansions (Gaughan, 2007). External
expansion would enable a firm to increase market scalability in the long run, and it is
relevant to the case of construction sector. Technically merger and acquisitions
(M&A) are the most preferred strategy once a firm desires rapid growth in terms of
market share and revenue, therefore the firm’s performance would be increasing as
well. One of the most common measures of performance is financial perspective.
Therefore, this research attempts to analyze whether merger and acquisition (M&A)
performs positive and significant impacts on the firm’s profitability, mainly to
compare construction sector and other relevant sectors in the economy.
Purpose - The main specific goal is to identify whether or not Merger and
Acquistion (M&A) of construction sector generates optimum benefit from the
government’s priority on infrastructure.
Design/methodology/approach - The M&A itself is specified into three types,
M&A Value Chain, M&A Technology, and M&A Mixed. In the other hand, firms'
performance is indicated by financial profitability ratio (P/E Ratio, ROA, ROE, and
ROI) By using Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) estimation technique, all
profitability indicators show positive outcome driven by M&A Mixed in the long run
except P/E Ratio. The result turns to be different once the analysis focused only on
the construction sector.
Findings - It is found that M&A Mixed (both value-chain and technology)
performed significant positive impact on ROA and ROE, while ROI would increase
once the M&A only focuses on improving the value chain for the construction sectors.
It implies that M&A in the construction sector could positively drive performance in
the future, therefore considerable to be best practice to achieve sustainable growth of
16
the firms. Implications of all findings are deeply examined and comprehensively
discussed.
Research limitations - The research focuses on analyzing the implication of
merger and acquisitions (M&A) on firms’ performance, using empirical approach
with the data of listed companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 1991 to
2018.
Originality/value - The research focuses on analyzing the implication of merger
and acquisition (M&A) using sectoral-based comparison and types of M&A (value-
chain, technology, and mixed) at once.

infrastructure spending on conducted by the Indonesia Government to increase and
encourage the growth of capital formation and economic growth in Indonesia that
had destroyed due to the ASEAN monetary crisis in 1997 and the global financial
crisis of 2008. Using the real GDP, government capital expenditure, infrastructure
spending as an inclusive fiscal policy of the government and private debt and export-
import, we use analysis time-series data within the cointegration analysis-
autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) from 2001 q4 to 2018q4. The empirical results
show that in the short-run, the most influential factor runs supported by the first lag
of GDP itself; the first lag export and government spending are also playing an
essential role with significant effect. However, several factors are also significant but
have a negative coefficient; the factor is control of corruption and government debt,
while in the long-run control of corruption is still correlated negatively, and
significantly, government spending still has positive and significant effects. On the
other hand, import has a significant positive effect on the long-term response to GDP.

Abstract
Background - Currently, analog media are facing a quite serious threat facing
digital media. For example, the radio industry was outstanding before 2000, but, int
the era after 2000 until now, the radio industry continues to decline. Based on
eMarketer data statistics from the last 5 years to the next few years, global radio
revenue tends to stagnate, which is around $ 28B and sometimes it fluctuated within
1% up or 1% down.
Purpose - PT Svara, as a startup in the field of media and broadcasting, needed
to make a strategy to be able to grow business, even though the analog radio industry
which was one of the objects and a vision to be revived was experiencing a decline.
Design/methodology/approach - This research method used was qualitative
methods by conducting in-depth interviews with the founder of PT Svara and several
actors in the radio industry. The results of the interview then combined with some
secondary data from academic books, journals, paper publications, and online
websites. Next, the external analysis was carried out using PESTEL Analysis, Five
Forces, and Value Network before producing a strategy formulation that can be
applied by PT Svara. Furthermore, the internal analysis was carried out using the
VRIO Framework and Financial Perspective, and conclusions using SWOT Analysis.
Findings - Some strategies are needed for PT Svara to realize its corporate vision.
In general, PT Svara would implement "Platform Strategy", namely "Derivative
Product" and also utilize the concept of "Network Effect". Derivative products are
derivatives of the parent platform that can produce new markets. These products
could help to optimize PT Svara revenue in the short to medium term. Meanwhile,
Network Effect could be used to support long-term strategies. In terms of reviving the
radio industry, a strategy was needed to carry out Digital Transformation Radio
which requires the radio industry to make changes. An approach with the Kotter 8-
Step Change method was used and combined with the 7'S McKinsey Framework to
map the change.
Research limitations - In this research, there are several limitations that are
used, which are: a. the media referred to in this research are limited to the radio
industry, b. the focus of research objects other than radio, is the audio industry in
general, which includes music and podcasts, c. broadcasting activities referred to in
48
this research are not only broadcasts that have AM/FM frequencies, but also
broadcasts that are conducted using the internet.
Originality/value - The results of this study indicated that PT Svara has a huge
opportunity to grow and realized its corporate vision, even though one of its objects
is the radio industry which is experiencing a business downturn. This is because
SVARA had a platform character, which not only relied on the analog radio industry,
but could also enter different markets and businesses such as the community, airtime
sales, audiolands, online-ads, and-so-on. Thus, one of PT Svara's vision to become a
unicorn startup could be achieved.

Abstract
Background - Dogol shrimp is one of the important fishery catch commodities in
Pangandaran. Based on 2016 West Java BAPPEDA data, capture fisheries
production in Pangandaran in 2014 amounted to 2,483,370 kg, increasing to
2,846,068.05 kg in 2015, and 2,526,929 kg in 2017. Based on these data, dogol shrimp
ranks 3 out of the 10 largest capture fisheries production in Pangandaran. The
production flow of capture fisheries in the supply chain that is too long will add costs
because price is the highest ranking factor, followed by shipping and quality.
However, no one has specifically conducted a comprehensive supply chain research
model on dogol shrimp commodities in Pangandaran so that the flow of the dogol
shrimp supply chain in Pangandaran has not been properly mapped.
Purpose - This research aims to analyze the management of the dogol shrimp
supply chain in terms of product flow, financial flow, information flow and risk as
well as marketing margins of each chain involved in KUD Minasari fish auction
Pangandaran which was held in November 2019 - February 2020.
Design/methodology/approach - The method used is descriptive qualitative and
quantitative using primary and secondary data with snowball sampling methods. The
analytical tool used is the analysis of supply chain conditions, risks and consequences
of dogol shrimp supply chains.
Findings - The results of this study illustrate the condition of the supply chain
running pretty well, marked by the product flow and financial flow of the dogol shrimp
supply chain that is running properly, although there are some risks that must be faced
by all business operators along with their respective consequences.
Research limitations - The process of product flow, information flow, financial
flow of the dogol shrimp supply chain in KUD Minasari, Pangandaran Regency
involving fishermen, wholesalers, small traders, restaurants and end consumers is
quite well related to channeling from fishermen who have not been supported by
fishermen's knowledge related to shrimp quality.
Originality/value - Dogol shrimp supply chain distribution channels are divided
into 4 types namely fishermen - fish auction - wholesalers - small traders - consumers,
56
fishermen - fish auction - wholesalers - restaurants - consumers, fishermen -
restaurants - consumers, fishermen - large traders - small traders - consumer.

Abstract
Background - Direct fed Microbial (DFM) is a type of probiotic that is given
directly to ruminants to increase livestock productivity. However, commercial
probiotic products in the market are quite expensive. To replace the commercial
probiotics, indigenous microorganisms (IMO) are made. Local microorganisms can
be made from natural materials such as plant remnants (banana stems), so hopefully,
the price can be cheaper than commercial products.
Purpose - This study is to determine the product selling price which is one of the
important decisions in determining the market price.
Design/methodology/approach - The analytical method used is a qualitative
descriptive method using the cost plus pricing method.
Findings - The results of this study indicate that the selling price of DFM products
calculated using the cost plus pricing method is cheaper compared to commercial
products that already exist in the market.
Research limitations - Product development can be obtained from the use of
other natural materials to obtain different indigenous microorganisms and can
further increase production.
Originality/value - DFM products from banana stem bioprocess are new
products that are not yet available in the market, so that can compete with products
that are already on the market at a price of Rp5.041,66 /liter.

Abstract
Background - Forages is the main feed of ruminant as a food source. The aim of
feeding for the needs of life, growth, production, and reproduction. The sustainable
forages throughout the year is difficult for ruminants. Therefore, to prevent the
shortage of forages can be used preservation technology is carried out in the form of
silage, so the nutritions of ruminant can be met. Silage is one of way for preserving
forages when feed availability have a decrease. Usually, silage is used as feed
replacement during the dry season. The aim of silage is produced feed that can be
stored for a long period of time, so the nutrition of ruminant can be met. Addition of
bran fermentation of rumen base in elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) silage
can be accelerated fermentation process. Furthermore, addition of fermented bran
can be increase availability of lactic acid microbes. That is cause water soluble
carbohydrate in fermented bran can be used by lactic acid microbes as energy
sources, so the fermentation process will be going well.
Purpose - The research was conducted to study the effect of addition of fermented
bran of rumen base for physical quality and pH of the elephant grass (Pennisetum
purpureum) silage.
Design/methodology/approach - This research used an experimental method
with a completely randomized design (CRD), experimental design. Values resulting
from panelist assessments of the physical quality of silage (color, smell, and texture)
and silage pH of elephant grass were analyzed using the transformation test. This
research consisted of 3 treatments and 6 replications, so in this research have 18 trial
units were obtained. Data were tested by analysis of variance and processed using
the excel program. The treatment which gives a significant effect will be test again by
Duncan's test.
Findings - The result of this research indicated that the increase of dosis of
fermentation bran in the silage of elephant grass has significant effect (P < 0,05) for
physical quality, but there were not influenced to the pH silage.
Research limitations - The disadvantage of this research is doesn't vacuum in the
process of silage fermentation.

Abstract
Background - Silage is forage preservation to fulfill the ruminant forage needs
at the lack of forage in the dry season. Fermented bran can be used as starter to
accelerate the fermentation of silage made procces. The elephant grass crude fiber
level is higher than the ruminant tolerant limit number of lignin. The fermentation can
breaks the lignocellulose bond that decrease the lignin level and makes the cellulose
easy to digest by the livestock.
Purpose - This study aims to determine the effects of fermented bran toward the
levels of lignin and cellulose of Elephant grass silage.
Design/methodology/approach - This research used experimental method with
completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments of P1 (1% of fermented bran),
P2 (3% of fermented bran), and P3 (5% of fermented bran), and 6 repeats.
Findings - Results of variance showed that the treatment was highly significant
(P 0.05) on the content of cellulose content of silage. The longer time of silage
fermentation from elephant grass can degrade the percentage content of lignin and
cellulose of the silage.
Research limitations - The silage made process of this research doesn't use the
vacuum.
Originality/value - The fermented bran usage can accelerate the fermentation of
the silage made process to 1 week.

1Universitas Padjadjaran, 2Harapan Bangsa Technology Institute
Abstract
Background - The tourism sector is an important source of income generation in
many countries, so as Indonesia is targeting 18 million foreign tourists in 2019. In
realizing the target, government re-brands 10 regions in Indonesia, and Greater
Makassar and South Sulawesi is one of them
Purpose - The focus of this research is on measuring capacity of foreign tourists
by using components of Attraction, Amenity and Accessibility (3A), in competitive
situation of domestic and foreign tourists
Design/methodology/approach - Each of these factors is broken down into
components of tourism service capacity measured from the arrival of foreign tourists
to their return, such as; space for arrival hall, number of immigration check-in
counters, baggage claim area at the international airport, transportation, restaurant
and cafe capacity, hotel, villa and homestay capacity, tourist attraction capacity,
departure hall area and international airport lounge area. Capacity is measured with
the Little Law Model which has been adjusted to the characteristics of the tourism
sector, in weekdays conditions. Data and information sources area from secondary
data and primary data of field surveys
Findings - The results showed that the capacity of foreign tourist services in
Greater Makassar - South Sulawesi, in 2019 is still sufficient. The bottleneck problem
is in Hasanuddin International Airport check-in counter. However, if there is a surge
in the number of foreign tourists 80 people per day, which currently reaches 45 people
a day (2019), it will exceed actual capacity, and will raise the problem of tourism
sector. The other critical components of tourists service are baggage claim area,
international lounge and the capacity of restaurants and cafes. Moreover during
weekends and holiday, competition on 3A between domestic and foreign tourists are
increasing. Thus an important factor for increasing the capacity of foreign tourist is
at Hasanudin Airport and in-sufficiency of restaurant and cafe capacity
Research limitations - Limited data for measuring attraction capacity because
of less accurate data of visitors in tourist destinations and limited resources to cover
the whole area of South Sulawesi
Originality/value - The research build the very comprehensive structure for
tourism planning in South Sulawesi and can be adopted as a model for other regions

Tourism Analysis Using User-Generated Content: A Case
Study of Foreign Tourists Visiting Japan on TripAdvisor
Suguru Tsujioka1, Kojiro Watanabe2, Akihiro Tsukamoto3
1Shikoku University, 2,3Tokushima University
Abstract
Background - In recent years, online travel service platforms such as TripAdvisor
have been actively used by tourists. These services include user-generated content,
which is vast and difficult to interpret manually. Several previous studies used user-
generated content (e.g., social networking services and TripAdvisor) for tourism
analysis. Most of these studies did not perform systematic text analysis.
Purpose - In this study, we propose a method of analyzing the user-generated
content to understand the characteristics of sightseeing attractions.
Design/methodology/approach - We analyzed the reviews of foreign tourists who
visited Japanese sightseeing attractions. The review data were collected from
TripAdvisor. First, a correspondence analysis was conducted to understand the
similarities between the sightseeing attractions. Next, a co-occurrence network
analysis was conducted to derive the theme clusters for understanding the
characteristics of sightseeing attractions based on the words in the review. Finally,
individual analyses were conducted based on the description of the derived themes at
each sightseeing attraction.
Findings - Correspondence analysis was useful for understanding similarities
between sightseeing attractions, while co-occurrence network analysis identified the
themes that define sightseeing attractions and clarified their constituent words. These
methods provided an approximate overview of the sightseeing attractions. However,
the results obtained by these two methods did not yield clear relationships between
the words and the sightseeing attractions. Cross-tabulation presented the sightseeing
attractions quantitatively based on the themes. However, the interpretation of the
words representing the themes should be judged in context, accomplished using the
KWIC(KeyWord In Context) method.
Research limitations - Considering the reviewer attributes such as gender, age
and place provides more detailed tourism analysis.
Originality/value - The results of the analyses demonstrate that the proposed
method is effective for comprehending the characteristics of each sightseeing
attraction. The proposed method is useful when using user-generated content for
tourism analysis.

Abstract
Background - Tourism ethnocentrism plays a significant role in the development
of culinary tourism. Regarded as their most popular cuisines, the brand strengthening
of culinary tourism in Pangandaran West Java is shown by promoting culinary
products such as pindang gunung (braise fish soup) and honje juice (ginger lily juice).
Purpose - This study aims to determine the Pangandaran culinary tourism
strategy carried out by the Department of Tourism and Culture of Pangandaran
Regency, by identifying brand awareness of local residents, domestic tourists, and
foreign tourists related to culinary tourism in Pangandaran.
Design/methodology/approach - Using qualitative methods, research data is
acquired by observation, literature study, focus group discussions, and in-depth
interviews with 6 local residents, 7 domestic tourists, and 7 foreign tourists.
Findings - The results indicate that there is a degree of ethnocentrism of the local
government in promoting the products of pindang gunung and honje juice. Half of the
local residents had a brand awareness category of 'top of mind' related to their
knowledge of pindang gunung and honje juice. However, most domestic tourists had
a brand awareness category of ' unaware of brand', followed by all foreign tourists
who also had a brand awareness category of 'unaware of brand'.
Research limitations - Research limitations are represented by the limited
amount of respondents, including not interviewing the local government.
Originality/value - The findings of this research will minimize tourism

Abstract
Background – One example of public services is health services. In fact, the
implementation and quality of the service has not been optimal due to many factors,
for example, the patientt registration system with a short message service (SMS) or
online system is often broken and the process of obtaining a medical referral letter
must go through several stages.
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine the health services for Indonesia
Sehat Card holders (hereinafter referred to as KIP) or more popularly called the
BPJS Patient, which is the registration process service through the SMS system or
online and the process of getting medical treatment to get a referral letter for medical
treatment for patients.
Design/methodology/approach – This study uses a qualitative approach and a
descriptive method, which explains the practice of the patient registration process via
sms system or online. This system is often broken in the long run which results in
inefficient registration. In addition, the process of obtaining a referral letter for
treatment for a BPJS patient will be investigated.
Findings – Due to damage to the registration process via sms or online, the patientt
must register directly at the location to retrieve the queue number. This queue is
carried out in the morning between 04.00 and 07.00. Queuing activities carried out
at the initiative of patients not hospital staff. Then the registration process starts at
8:00. Regarding the process of referral letters for treatment starting from the
Community Health Center (Puskesmas) or private polyclinic. The use of the referral
letter for treatment at large hospitals such as Regional General Hospital (RSUD)
type C or type B. The above process is due to differences in class / type of hospital.
The process of issuing referral letters is done by coming directly to the hospital.
Research limitations – This research uses secondary data because primary data, for
example interviews with hospital managers are difficult. Data limitations are caused
by rigid bureaucracy, non-transparency, and minimal digital data.
Originality/value – Public services in terms of health are still minimal. There is an
information technology gap so that the service is inefficient.

Abstract
Background - The trend of tourism attention in 2019 – 2020 is shifting from
enjoying the man-made attraction to adventuring rural and nature enamor across the
world. Thus, the Local Government, Private Sectors and Travel Entusiasts are finding
ways to establish, develop, enhance, and promote rural tourism entrepreneurship that
potentially captive the demand but sometimes is forgotten. To support the project, the
academicians are conducting research based on this phenomenon by surveying the
potential customer, observing the rural destinations, and evaluating the regulations
made by the Authority. However, the question of how much research is being
conducted and did the works had covered all the problems that might be arisen in
prospering the tourist destination are still on doubt.
Purpose - The objective of the research is to classify works done by scholars in
the topic of Rural Tourism and its following aspects for Entrepreneurial to specify
further interest point of view.
Design/methodology/approach - A Systematic Mapping Study is needed to
classify the literature of Rural Tourism concerning Entrepreneurial, the process is
included filtering the irrelevant research purpose, research scope and articles. The
filtered journal articles are then clustered into four categories and mapped into a
graph of research scope.
Findings - Out of 141 articles in Scopus, 84 publications were filtered then
clustered based on key- indicators such as research type, research method, research
focus and the region of where the research be focused at. The newest trend is that
Malaysia, Indonesia and the rural part of China have embryonic spots that need to be
expanded, while the local government still not being able to minimize the economic
gaps between local people residing near the location and the newcomer (business
owner) in most of the tourist spot. The sustainability development plan of each tourist
spot and community development program are suggested in all research topics.
Research limitations - The research is bounded to filter, classify and analyze the
works related to the Rural Tourism in the view of Entrepreneurial subject published
in Scopus. Further systematic mapping study from another journal publisher is
needed to give a broader view of the research scope.
98
Originality/value - The rural tourism has become a spotlight case in both
business and education organizations, but a systematic mapping study on rural
tourism in regards to entrepreneurship aspects has not yet to be published in Scopus.
