About Turbine Efficiency

Founded in 2000 as an Independent Service Provider on the full range of Siemens industrial gas turbines from 1 - 15MW. Turbine Efficiency provides a world-class service for all maintenance, repair, overhaul and testing of your gas turbine and package. The group operates from a state-of-the-art overhaul facility in Lincoln,

UK with offices in Aberdeen, Dubai and Houston, and resident Field Service Engineers in several key European locations. In 2016 TEL was acquired by Core Capital Partners, a mid-market private equity investor supporting high-growth UK companies.

About Gas Turbine Applications (“GTA”)

Founded in 1984, GTA is an independent service provider specialising in the Saturn® and Centaur® industrial gas turbines (Solar® Turbines products). GTA provides overhaul, repair and testing services for a

longstanding customer base, primarily operating within the upstream and midstream sector, from its facility in Calera, OK, USA.

About Turbine Efficiency Coatings and Repairs

Initially Turbine Efficiency sub contracted all coatings and repair services out of house, it became apparent that lead times and quality could be improved by establishing its own Coatings and Repair Centre. In 2014 the first engines were repaired in house using our new facility, now, 4 years on our centre not only services house accounts but 35% throughput is external customers.

In 2018 the Coatings and Repair service expanded globally, therefore the need for a state of the art facility to increase capacity and support the new growing customer base was necessary, providing you with an unrivalled service.

Our state-of-the-art facility has been developed to follow LEAN manufacturing principles, ensuring that our

We can also offer DLE Combustion system retrofit or upgrade, giving you emissions compliance.

Rotor Balancing Service

We use a Schenck approved Rotor Balancing machine. These machines support rotating assemblies and component testing.

Our service can offer you a same day turnaround service. This service is predominantly for rotors up to 1400kg. We also offer specialist collection and delivery services for all machines that we service. Whether it be a one-off prototype or batch and production work, the machine can offer:

• Belt drive or end drive • Balancing to BS 6861, ISO1940 or customer derived

values• Static or dynamic balancing • Distances bearing pedestal centres of between

300mm and 2600mm

Parts Supply

Turbine Efficiency hold a variety of new, used and refurbished spares in our Parts Supply department, available for immediate shipment. More Details can be provided upon request.

New Equipment

We are able to source new equipment from the OEM’s and if required build up multiple parts into a complete assembly at our in-house workshop facility.

Used Equipment

We also hold a large stock of obsolete used equipment, including Rustronic Mark II parts which we test and calibrate in-house. If you require a piece of equipment that we do not hold in stock, we can use our extensive

connections to source it for you. We can provide these with a test and calibration certification, along with a warranty, and if required we can also install the equipment at site.

About Gas Turbine ApplicationsFounded in 1984 and based in Calera, OK, GTA is an independent service provider specialising in the Saturn® and Centaur® industrial gas turbines (Solar® Turbines products). GTA provides overhaul, repair and testing services for a longstanding customer base, primarily operating within the upstream and midstream sector.

This is all delivered from a 16000 sqft workshop which includes a Saturn® and Centaur® test facility as well as a fully equipped machine shop. The workshop has 2 overhead cranes (up to 7 T capability) and build stands for both the Saturn® and Centaur® engines. In Addition, GTA has a 9600 sqft building that is being developed as a new test facility and storage area.

GTA provide a competitively priced overhaul of all Solar®, Saturn® and Centaur® products. Each turbine is disassembled, cleaned, inspected, repaired, balanced and assembled to the highest quality standards.

GTA will pick up and deliver major components with our own trucks to help you avoid down time delays. The service trucks are fully equipped with all necessary

tools for service and test equipment for trouble calls. Our service personnel will do the work you request and assist your personnel with training if desired.

Complete Package Refurbishment

GTA will completely refurbish your used equipment or locate equipment for refurbishment and resale.

All product improvements are incorporated in to each refurbishment where possible and custom modifications to meet special applications can be added. Control modifications from the relay logic to programmable controller is an option.

Field modification or retrofit of some product improvements is available and can be quoted upon request.

Our Technicians and engineers are fully conversant with large frame engine repairs and coating, in particular Frame 9, 7DA, V94.2, etc albeit mostly on combustion components (i.e. Burner bezel rings, Gas distribution manifolds, pre-mix swirlers, and limited row 1 and 2

Blades and Vanes. Also, we have experience of outage requirements and have a pool of a workforce nearing 100 people of varying skills related to Gas Turbine overhaul and maintenance.

High-performance technology

Turbine Efficiency offers a comprehensive range of high-performance technologies that will improve blade efficiency and reduce the fouling rate of your compressor.

Providing protection to gas turbine components with IP9183-R1 Sacrificial Aluminide coating. Spray applied Ipcote is used, on turbine blades, rotors, casings and shafts to protect components from salt laden atmospheres, high temperature oxidation, chemicals and abrasives.

As a Topcoat layer to the 9183-R1, Turbine Efficiency use IP9444 Smooth seal or our own TELXG as an inorganic protective. Smooth seal cures to provide a smooth finish to improve dirt shedding and air flow properties. The sacrificial aluminide coatings are

conductive, and inherently porous. Smooth seal and TELXG seals this porosity without detracting from their sacrificial properties. It also creates an electrically non-conductive barrier coat.

As a final upgrade to the standard IP9444 or TELXG, Turbine Efficiency applies a final Chrome Free seal coat. The application of GWS as the final layer improves the function of the sealer coat. The GWS system produces a surface profile of <10 Ra @ 0,003” cut off compared to ~20 Ra for the original sacrificial coating systems.

Specialist welding services, welding a huge array of exotic materials including, nickel base super alloys, stainless steels, mildsteels and aluminium using TIG (tungsten inert gas). Our specialists have over 20 years industry experience in welding and blending gas turbine super alloys.

Coatings and Repair Centre have advanced NDT knowledge and skills to interpret and evaluate findings during the florescent inspection process.

Fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI) is a type of dye penetrant inspection in which a fluorescent dye is applied to the surface in order to detect defects that may compromise the integrity or quality of the part in question FPI operations use a dye much more sensitive to smaller flaws than penetrants used in other DPI procedures. This is because of the nature of the fluorescent penetrant that is applied. With its yellow glow caused by its reaction with ultraviolet light, FPI dye sharply contrasts with the dark background. Highlighting minute defects which are easily observed by our skilled inspectors.

The Health and Safety Improvement Plan/KPIs and ISO45001:2018 & ISO14001:2015 was successfully implemented in 2018. Plans/KPIs are established and reviewed at management review, health and safety/environmental committee meetings and operations

meetings to ensure full workforce involvement. Health and safety and environmental objectives are converted into key performance indicators (KPI’s) which are used to measure health and safety and environmental performance and achievement against the QHSE Policies.
