Detailed Itinerary
DAY 01; ARRIVE KOLKATA
On arrival at Kolkata airport meet with our office representative, assistance and transfer to hotel
(hotel check in / out time is 1200hrs afternoon early check in subject to rooms availability).
Later city tour of Kolkata visiting
historical landmarks the magnificent
Fort William still out of bounds for
visitors. Victoria Memorial reflects
colonial power in Calcutta, once the
capital and most profitable center of
British rule in India. The monument
dates from the early twentieth
century and is today a museum for
relics of the Raj. At one end of the
Maidan (An open pitch of huge dimensions was kept as a free fields of fire for Fort William's guns.
It is still a favourite area for thousands in the early morning) is Calcutta's most imposing and
monumental 'dream in marble'. It is a treasure trove of Raj relics and offers tree-lined walks in
splendid parks and houses a number of superb statues including that of Queen Victoria. Howrah
Bridge Calcutta's most enduring symbol, and a very important communication link across the banks
of Hooghly, the largest cantilevered structure in the world and built in 1941. Zoological Gardens
the creation of Sir Richard Carnac Temple who was Governor of Bengal from 1874 to 1877. It was
opened on Jan 1st 1876, by the Prince of Wales. The 16 hectare grounds house a wide species of
animals & birds including the rare white Bengal Tiger. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 02; KOLKATA – SUNDERBAN NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast at hotel drive to Sunderban National park till Sonakhali/ Godhkhali by car (140kms/
3hrs). From Sonakhali/ Godhkhali jetty by motor launch to the resort/ hotel located in the
Sundarbans Islands. This journey would take you down the rivers Hogil, Gomar, Durgaduni and Gumdi
in about an hour and a half. After lunch, set off on motor launch and view wildlife from the
Sajnekhali watchtower and visit the Sajnekhali Museum and Mangrove Interpretation Centre.
Overnight at hotel/ resort or in a Boat anchored in middle of the river.

Sunderban where the mighty Ganges meets the sea forming thousands of deltas and islets. The
world's largest mangrove forest stands proudly guarding the secrets of an undiscovered land. The
natural abode of the famous Royal Bengal Tigers and numerous crocodiles, snakes and deer, this
forest with entwining rivers is one of the last strongholds of the wild world.
DAY 03; SUNDERBAN NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, cruise with the vessel along the
creeks and take a village tour at Chargheri Char,
the southernmost village of West Bengal. Do not
forget to carry your shorts as the inviting waters
of the Sundarban entice you to wade through them
and frolic on the Mudflats. One can spot Octopus,
Star Fish, Jelly Fish, Horse shoe Crab, prawn seeds
as well as many other variety of fishes etc. An
interesting activity involves Country Boat ride (your
cost) along the jungles. Guest can set off for a visit to a village and learn about the experiences of
the villagers in the forest. Meet the fishermen, the Honey Collectors as well as the woodcutters
and share their experiences of the Jungle. Next, visit the Sudhanyakhali watch tower, most of the
Royal Bengal Tigers are sighted from this tower. Some other wildlife like axis deers, wild boars and
crocodiles may also be seen from this watch tower. There is a sweet water pond where animals
drink water. Behind the pond one can sight animals from a distance. Overnight at hotel/ resort or in
a Boat anchored in middle of the river.
DAY 04; SUNDERBAN NP – KOLKATA (DRIVE) / KOLKATA – BAGDOGRA (FLIGHT) –
DARJEELING (62KMS/ 2HRS APPROX)
Breakfast at hotel motor boat transfer to Sonakhali/ Godhkhali jetty. From here drive to Kolkata,
direct transfer to airport to board flight for Bagdogra. At Bagdogra airport meet your driver and
proceed to Darjeeling check in at hotel. Overnight at
hotel.
DAY 05: DARJEELING
Be ready early Morning, at 0400 AM pick up for visiting
Tiger Hill for spectacular view of colour full sunrise over
Mt. Kanchendzonga, on way back visit Ghoom Monastery,

Batasia Loop and back to hotel. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PN.
Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Ropeway view point, Tibetans Refuge Centre
(closed on Sunday), Happy valley Tea Garden (outer view) and Lioyed botanical garden.
Afternoon Toy Train Joyride in Darjeeling takes place for a duration of two hours. This is a round
trip of 16kms. The train starts from Darjeeling station, goes up to Ghum, makes a brief halt at the
Ghum station so that you can take a look at DHR Museum, and then on its way back stops at Batasia
Loop for soaking in the great views of Kanchenjunga as well as Darjeeling town on the hill slope, and
then returns to Darjeeling.
Evening enjoy at Chowrasta for shopping or full fill of curio collection hobby. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 06: DARJEELING – PELLING (75KMS/ 3HRS APPROX)
Breakfast at hotel drive to Pelling check in at hotel.
Visit Pemayangtse Monastery the literal meaning of 'Pemayangtse' is a 'Perfect Sublime Lotus'.
This highly revered monastery is built at a height of 2085 m. Pemayangtse Monastery is the pivot
of the Nyingamapa sect, a Tantrik sect of Buddhists. The followers of this sect are distinguished
by the red caps they wear; other monasteries' monks wear yellow caps. The monastery's walls are
decorated with traditional frescoes depicting various themes of Tantrik Buddhism. It houses a
collection of rare Buddhist antique idols, carvings, scriptures and sculptures. The highlight of the
monastery is Dungzin Rimpoche's beautifully detailed illustration of 'Sangthopalri' or Heaven.
Rabdentse Ruin close to Pemayangtse was the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim from
1670 to 1814. The capital city was destroyed by the invading Gurkha army and only the ruins of the
palace and the chortens are seen here now. From the vantage point of this former capital, superb
views of the Khanchendzonga ranges can be witnessed. Rest time to explore the sight of you
interest. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 07: PELLING – GANGTOK (120KMS/ 4HRS APPROX)
Breakfast at hotel drive to Gangtok via NH 31A passing thru Temi, Taraku, Singtam, Rangpo,
Ranipool. The journey is surrounded by lush green forests and Tea Gardens with eye catching
picturesque view. On the way stop and have a sip of local Sikkimese tea. Arrive and check in at
hotel. Rest time free and easy to relax and visit the local market. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 08: GANGTOK

Breakfast at hotel visit Rumtek Monastery a famous monastery, all over the world, originally called
the Dharma Chakra Centre, it includes a beautiful shrine
temple and a monastery for the monks. The 16th
Karmapa built the monastery. The place got an existence
in the Buddhist pilgrimage map, especially after Chinese
habitation in Tibet and subsequent relocations of some
Tibetan religious gurus to Sikkim. Insitute of Tibetology
establishment in 1958, the Namgyal Institute of
Tibetology has sponsored and promoted research on the
religion, history, language, art and culture of the people
of the Tibetan cultural area which includes Sikkim. The
foundation stone of the institute was laid by the 14th
Dalai Lama on the 10th of February 1957 and the institute was declared open by the late Prime
Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on the 1st of October 1958. The building of the institute
is an imposing monument and a splendid example of Sikkimese architecture. Enchey Monastery is a
Famous Buddhist Monastry. Lord Buddha, Loki Sharia and Guru Padmasambhava are the deities of
this temple. This monastry has the large prayer hall contains the paintings for four religious kings,
the manuscripts of this monastry are placed in almirah. The four pillars supporting the roof of the
monastery are elaborately carved. Hanuman Tok is a Hindu temple complex which is located in the
upper reaches of Gangtok. Rest time to explore the sites of your interest and visiting the local
market. Overnight at hotel
DAY 09: GANGTOK – KALIMPONG
(75KMS/ 2HRS APPROX)
Breakfast at hotel drive to Kalimpong
check in at hotel. Perched on a ridge above
the Teesta River, Kalimpong is home to
colonial-era buildings.
Later sightseeing visiting Durpin
Monastery located on the Durpin hill and
hence such name. The actual name is Zang
Dog Palri monastery. It was built in 1972 and has some rare Buddhist scripts that were brought
here by Dalai Lama from Tibet. From the upper terrace of the monastery, you get magnificent views
of Kalimpong town with Kanchenjunga in the background, the valley and the plains, Teesta & Reang
rivers flowing down, and lovely tea estates of Peshoke area. Dr Graham's Homes the missionary
school was set up by Dr. J A Graham in 1900 as an orphanage cum school for the destitute Anglo
Indian children. It started only with one cottage that accommodated up to 35 children. Over the
years it has grown as a well-known multi religious and co-educational school spanning over 500 acres

of lush landscape and having some 50 cottages. It is located on the way to Deolo Hills. You can walk
across to various parts of the school. Sherpa View Point a watershed near Buddha statue from
where you get great views towards both north and south. You get excellent views of Sikkim hills and
Mount Kanchenjung if you look north, towards south is the beautiful view of a valley and the Relli
river flowing through it as well Loleygaon (Kafer) and also the hills of Samthar plateau. This view
point is unfortunately not well maintained. Durga Mandir a Hindu temple of Goddess Durga located
near Sherpa View Point. A nice garden full of flowering plants and a viewing gallery. The temple is
small but quite nice. Good place to relax for a while. Mangal Dham an excellent temple complex built
in the memory of late Guruji Mangal Dasji and dedicated to Lord Krishna. Rest time to relax and
visit the local market. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 10: KALIMPONG – BAGDOGRA (75KMS/ 2HRS APPROX)
Breakfast at hotel, transfer to Bagdogra airport to board flight for Kolkata. From Kolkata board
connecting flight for your onward destination.
We recommend to book international departure flight departing after 2000hrs or later. Vehicle will
be provide in Kolkata if require during transit period for visiting any place of your interest.

In case you cancel the trip after commencement, refund would be restricted to a limited amount
only which too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers/

Agora Voyages act only in the capacity of agent for the hotels, airlines, transporters, railways &
contractors providing other services & all exchange orders, receipts, contracts & tickets issued by
us are issued subject to terms & conditions under which these services are provided by them.
All itineraries are sample itineraries, intended to give you a general idea of the likely trip schedule.
Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may
dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to
change any schedule in the interest of the trip participants' safety, comfort & general well being.
Our rates are based on the prevailing rates as negotiated by us with the hotels, airlines etc. Hotels
and Airlines retain the right to modify the rates without notice. In case of such changes the rates
quoted before the modification, can be changed by us according to the modifications by hotels or
airlines. All hotel bookings are based on usual check in and check out time of the hotels until unless
indicated in the itinerary.
We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the program or expenses incurred –
directly or indirectly – due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of
machinery or equipment’s, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures
or any untoward incidents.
We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in
connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting – directly or
indirectly – from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment,
breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics,
medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.

We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft,
or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home
country. All baggage’s & personal property/s at all times are at the client's risk.
We will not be responsible for any costs arising out of unforeseen circumstances like landslides,
road blocks, bad weather, etc.
Tipping
Tipping is not included in our price. Tipping is optional, and at times expected in travel trade.
Obviously there is no limit to how much you can tip and some guests who enjoy and appreciate the
services of Guides, driver and other crew will and have tipped much more than our average tipping
guideline of about $10-15 per day.

be appreciated. Although we try our best, Tourism is a trade, which cannot be perfect and there
