METHODOLOGYRecruiteX represents the demand aspects of recruitment. Demand for talent is computed by

factoring activities of recruiters on TimesJobs.com. This demand is integrated with numbers collected by our offline team and then segregated according to top industry verticals, functional areas and locations.

The base value for the index has been kept at 100 for the month of December 2010. All RecruiteX values for subsequent months represent the trend of RecruiteX viz-a-viz December 2010.

RecruiteX, in its most comprehensible format, is aimed to provide a detailed insight of the recruitment market in India to employers, recruiters and job seekers alike.

Talent demand dropped by 3 per cent during January 2016 even as hiring activity revived across key sectors, reveals the latest RecruiteX, the recruitment index by TimesJobs.com. Among key sectors, healthcare, IT/telecom and travel & hospitality posted significant rise in demand for talent. Doctors/nurses/medical professionals posted the highest rise in demand during January 2016. Hospitality professionals too posted a significant rise in demand during the period. Entertainment/media/journalism profile, which was the most sought-after in December 2015, posted double-digit

drop in demand in January 2016. IT/telecom professionals too saw a negative demand trend. Among key locations, Chennai was the only metro to report rise in talent demand. Among non-metros, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Indore saw increased hiring activity during January 2016. Hiring fell across experience categories, barring senior professionals with over 20 years of experience. Candidates with less than 2 years of experience witnessed the maximum drop in demand in January 2016, according to RecruiteX data.
