English.Veryearlyinhislifeherealizedthathecould
notisolatevisualartfromothermediaandinfluences
inhislife.
Usingasabasehewouldcreate
paintingsthatallhaveapreparationof
bluegessothatgivesforthmorelightthan
white.Histechniqueistouseastraight
edgeinoilpainttocreatelinesof
distinction.Theseequispacedlinescanbe
barsformusicorlineswaitingtobefilled
withwordsthatwillcommunicatethe
universalityofarts.Thenhecomesbackin
topullthesoundsfromthecompositions.
Thiswasthebodyofworkthatsetthestyle
forhisfirstsoloexhibition/performance.
Toddwantedtocreatetencanonsbased
on
his
paintings
this
exhibition;
therefore,
hewenttoZurich,Switzerlandto
collaborateontheprojectwithcomposer
andlyristGregWalter,whohad
synesthesia,aconditionthatgiveshimthe
abilitytoseecolorstranslatingtheseinto
specificsoundsortones.Thefinished
productionwasreceivedwithgreat

LittledidWilliamsonknowthiswouldbealaunchingpadforanintellectual
journeythatwouldculminateinstudiesof
FineArtsinUCLA, throughoutEurope
andAsia.
Thisroadtoscholarshipandexhibition
continuedin2005asavisitingartistwith
theSkopelosFoundationinGreece.While
there,Williamsonbecamefamiliarwiththe
Greekclassicsinliterature,visualand
performingarts.Hispaintingshaveasense
ofstilldramaasdotheGrecianartifactsin
thegreatmuseumsofAthens.
WilliamsonwasalsoinvitedtoboththeAmerican
AcademyofRomaandtheScuolaInternazionalediVenezia
inVenice,Italyasavisitingartist.FromthePapal
illuminatedbookstotheVenetianskies,onecansee
thestronginfluenceonhisworks.Hetookthiswealth
ofhistoryandclassicismintohisowncontemporary
style,andthroughhismarriageofvariousmedia,led
himtonumerousgrantsandawards:thePollock
KrasnerFoundationGrant:ArtisticTributeAward City
ofNaples,Italy;CuratorsChoiceAward Spectrum
