Term 3 Week 9 17 September 2010 Kia Ora koutou Unbelievably this is th e last newsletter for th e term! The term has been amazing in so many ways! Seussical has been a huge whole school effort! My sincere thanks to the team that have assisted in creating this opportunity for so many children. Creativity and imagina tion is all too often sid elined in education. However so man y individual children have stepped up to display previously unnoticed talent, that we must ensure these opportunities are fostered and encouraged. We look forward to sharing the show w ith you all on Wednesday evening. Thank you for supporting us with fantastic ticket sales, we know you will not be disappointed. This week Salford was visited by 28 teachers from around New Zealand, as part of the enrich@ILT Schools of Excellence Bus Tour. This was another initiative planned to showcase the difference we have made in education in partnership with the Invercargill Licensing Tru st. Our staff have share d their excellent teaching and learning opportunities, while students have answered their many questions on l earning plans etc. Congratulations to the staff for hosting these teachers, and also for ensuring the classrooms looked so amazing with so much children’s work displayed. We thank you for yo ur attendance at Scien ce night. I have been so impressed to see the exciting hands on experiments and the students understanding of the actual Sci- ence conc epts. The students have loved the entire process! We may have some budding Einstein's out there! Jo Turner and I are attempting to return to work, some what intermittently, we thank you for your understanding. I wish you all a safe term break and look forward to term 4.  Marlene Calendar: Calendar: Calendar: Calendar: Sausage Sizzle Every Friday $1.50each Subway Orders Every Wednesday National Standards Public Meeting for Parents—20 Sept  School Photos—21 Sept  School Production — 22 Sept  BOT Fundraiser—return unsold products / sales money—24 Sept  End of Term—24 Sept  First Day of Term 4— 11 Oct  PTA—Fish n Chip Night—15 Oct  Board of Trustees Meeting—26 Oct  End of Term 4—15 Dec TOPDECK CHOCOLATE, SNAKES, AND CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES The Board of Trustees THANKS you all for supporting the Fundraiser which is currently underway.
